I kept my faith though I was greatly afflicted

I have had a few dreams over the last week,  one was on Wednesday night.   I dreamt that Cain from the television soap Emmerdale was flirting with me.   Then I had gone to buy some food at a café and I could not find my money to pay for it.

We are told that the scriptures are discerned spiritually and Cain in the Bible represents one who comes to God with an offering of something grown from the earth.   I felt the Lord was pointing out to me not to  allow the carnal mind and its reasoning, which comes from earthly wisdom and knowledge, to seduce me away from the word of the Lord that I believe has been spoken to me regarding my healing, or I could be left poorer spiritually.

I have recently had my gold keys and chain repaired at the jeweller's.  One key had fallen off, one of the three keys with hearts on alongside the keys which hold the name of Jesus on them.  The hearts to me had represented  Father, Son and Holy Spirit and, although they had all worn a little, I felt the one that had fallen off was representing the Holy Spirit to me because I have been in danger of not holding on to what has been enlightened to me by the Holy Spirit in the scriptures - God's promise to me of healing.  Fortunately the key had fallen off in the house so it was not lost completely.

The total cost of the repair was £116 and I was immediately reminded of Psalm 116, which is a Psalm of thanksgiving for deliverance from death.  One of the verses which has always spoken to me from this Psalm, and which I felt I was being reminded of as I continue waiting for the promise of my complete healing is verse 10. 'I kept my faith even when I said 'I am greatly afflicted'.

I knew straight away that all things were working together, and that the Lord was encouraging me through the Psalm to keep my faith by holding on to the enlightened word spoken to me, (even though I was greatly afflicted), and warning me through the  dream about Cain not to let thoughts and reasoning growing in  the carnal (earthly) mind rob me of God's promise.

Recently I bought a pair of trousers and a top while out in a nearby town with my husband, sister and brother in law.  When I got home I went to hang them in my wardrobe and noticed that the label on the trousers had these words on it:- FAITHFUL and TRUE

I knew these words were somewhere in the scriptures but was not sure where. I went into my workroom and turned my computer on to look for where these words are.

I found that they are written in Revelation ch. 19 v. 11:- 'Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.'

As I read this verse I looked up from my computer at my white china horse that I had bought while on holiday in Czechoslovakia many years ago.

I believe absolutely nothing is coincidence, and that the Lord knew that I would buy those trousers with that label on, and would have the white horse placed on my shelf above my computer, which would both go together with the scripture in Revelation ch. 19.  (He sees the end from the beginning)

I believe it is all to encourage me to trust wholly in the promise He has given me, that He is Faithful and True, and that  I must believe Him and the word that He gives me as guidance through this trial no matter what the eyes see and the carnal mind tries to argue, just as Abraham believed God no matter what the circumstance appeared to be.
Jesus says in John ch. 14 v. 15 'If you love Me you will keep my commandments.

So I must endeavour to do what I believe He is telling me to do, and I can only say 'I will love Thee O Lord my strength,' as I make this little song that I wrote some years ago my prayer.

Help me Lord, I'm battle scarred and weary
Satan's hand is much too strong for me
but I know, if You will be my friend by my side,
my old foe will have to turn and flee

Change me Lord according to Your image,
bend me Lord according to Your will
You alone can make me what God wants me to be
take my fears and cause me to be still

For You alone have conquered
You've won the victory
and I can share these blessings
if You're living inside of me

So change me Lord according to Your image
bend me Lord according to Your will
You alone can make me what God wants me to be
take my fears  - and cause me to be still

March 9th

Just to add:- I went to church yesterday and the man who was taking the meeting read out a prophesy that had been written down.  It contained the words 'Faithful and true'.  I shall ask to read the whole prophesy next week, as I believe it is on-going confirmation for me.

Dear Brenda,
I love how you see the hand of God in all that happens to you -- occurrences that others would dismiss as coincidence, or mundane day-t5o-day matters not worthy of notice. But God speaks to His children in so many ways, and with Him there are no coincidences. May we always be attuned to His still, small voice and read the "love letters" He leaves for us wherever we look.
May God bless you and your ministry,
Laurie

Hi Laurie,
I know that you too know that God speaks in so many ways, and what I love is that my faith is increased by hearing His voice and I know I can say to my Lord, 'Lord, I do believe, but help me in my unbelief' God bless you Laurie.

Another very encouraging post. Thanks for sharing this Brenda. That same scriprure you read in revelation I read yesterday when I was searching for the meaning of a dream I had. All I can remember from the dream is hearing something has already begun.

I'm always amazed at how you're able to discern and put together all the signs to understabd what message God is trying to reveal to you. I have had many dreams I wonder the meaning of but I am usually not sure what they mean and I'm not as good at putting pieces together to find the answer. I think I may be distracted throughout the day and even though throughout the day the dream comes to mind I still can never figure out what all I saw meant. I pray about them and ask God to let me know the interpretation. In Genesis Joseph said that the interpretation of dreams belong to God. I do sometimes feel anxious to know what it means and I noticed that usually when I see something in real life or hear something I heard in the dream, immediately a flash of what i dreamnt and thought i forgot about comes back to memory. I feel sad when I can't figure it out because if God is speaking to me I want to understand what He's telling me, whether it be a warning or a reminder of Him being here with me or something. Do you fast? I thought maybe I need to just shut everything off and take some time to really pray and study the word and that can help. I only find myself able to go a day or two though. Can you keep me in your prayers please about this. I have had several dreams that I feel may be showing me something important but I just don't know. Do you write your dreams down? I used too but I stopped. God bless you and your husband Brenda. I'm always glad to sit down and read all of your encouraging posts. :-)

Hi Sateigdra,
it is lovely to hear from you. I don't even think that it is coincidence that you read that scripture from Revelation yesterday, and I believe the 'hearing something has already begun' is regarding the Lord speaking to you in your own situation through His Rhema word, confirming that He is faithful and true.

In that scripture it speaks of Him fighting the enemy, and this speaks to me of the spiritual warfare that the Lord has already won, and the victory of which we can partake in when we put our trust in Him.

The definition of a rhema is 'a verse or portion of Scripture that the Holy Spirit brings to our attention with application to a current situation or need for direction.'
I have always believed that the Bible is a vocabulary and not just a book

I had another dream which I did not share on my blog but now that you have shared with me what is happening in your life I feel to tell you about it. In the dream a hand from above placed a huge pile of money in my hand. At the same time I could see a group of people who I knew were part of the church going off into the countryside and woodlands. I knew I was to give the money to these people.
Paul speaks about the 'unfathomable riches of Christ'(ephesians ch. 3 v. 8)

Riches of this kind are found in the 'wisdom' of the Word according to Proverbs ch. 8 v. 18, 19:- 'Riches and honour are with me, enduring riches and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold,
and my revenue than choice silver.'

We are told that the fear (or respect) of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.(Psalm 111 v.10).

I believe that in my dream I am to share the riches of the Word that is being used to encourage me in my walk in the Lord with others that may be in a similar situation.

Sometimes I write my dreams down, but I usually get the gist of what God is trying to warn me of in them. The interpretation of dreams does belong to God, but we must not forget that Joseph was given the interpretation of many dreams. We are told that God warns in dreams and in order for us to know what He is warning against there must be an interpretation of those dreams.

There is a lovely call for the church to persevere and wait for the mercy of our Lord in Jude ch.1 vs.20 & 21 which reads:-
'But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.'

No, I don't fast. There is a spiritual 'fasting', spoken of in Isaiah ch. 58, vs. 1-12, that is the type of fasting that pleases God.

God bless you in your walk with the Lord Sateigdra, and I hope to see you blogging again soon.

Hi Ariella,
I hope you are well. Thank you for visiting. I must come over and visit your blog, I feel like I have not read as many blogs as I would like to lately as a lot has been going on in my life.
God bless you and I will be over to your site soon to see how you are getting on.

Thanks for sharing that dream Brenda. Sometime last week I also came across that very same scripture you shared from Jude. I remember tjat Issiah 58 scripture about fasting. A lot of people recommend fasting here. That is a great interpretation of your dream about the hand that handed you money. Sharing the riches of the Word is always better.

In the other dream you mentioned in your blog post, you talked about i think stopping purchase something in your dream or something like that. That reminded of several dreams I had where i was purchasing something, usually something to eat. I always wondered what could those dreams mean.

Thanks again for all the encouragement. I hope God continues to bless, guide, teach and strengthen you on your walk. I'm glad He made it so I could get know you and others in Christ.

Hi Sandi,
I believe the Word of the Lord is an 'active' word to hold fast to.
God bless

Sateigdra,
how lovely that you were shown the same scripture from Jude too, it is a very encouraging scripture as far as staying within the Lord's protective covering is concerned.
The part of my dream where I had no money to buy food was in the dream about Cain, and I felt I was being shown that if I let earthly thoughts seduce me, then I would loose out on the true riches (God's wisdom and knowledge)through which I can acquire the bread of life.

Just to add Sateigdra,
Psalm ch. 11 v. 7 says that the upright shall behold His face, and I believe that if we seek the wisdom of the Lord, and endeavour to act on the word spoken to us, then one day we shall see God's face. I see Jesus, the Word who became flesh, as the bread of the face and the tree of life.
