Do not fear

As I was looking through my blog posts history I came across a draft post that had not been finished or published.  It was regarding some plants that I had bought.  I felt to add to it even though I could not remember  the reason I had started to put it together at that time.

It began:-
After Gedaliah's death at Mizpah, the remnant that was left of the people who had been at Mizpah wanted to return to Egypt because they were afraid of reprisals from Babylon.  They asked Jeremiah to ask God the way they should go and what they should do.  Jeremiah said he would ask God.  They became afraid while waiting ten days for an answer.

Sometimes when we ask God for direction when we are afraid, if God does not answer us straight away we make our own decisions as to what to do.  Then, when we are shown what to do by God through the Holy Spirit enlightening the scriptures to us, the fear that has built up while waiting has taken over.  They were warned that if they went back to Egypt whereas then they put it 'they would not see war or trumpet or be hungry' then the very things they feared would destroy them. This can be true in our own walk with the Lord to the promised land.

When we lived in a previous house I split an opium poppy plant that I had bought into two separated pieces and put the pieces in two pots with compost in them.  One piece quickly grew leaves and several buds, the other had none,  and when the first bud flowered it was of a red-orange colour, not salmon pink.  Then the other plant started to grow small but lighter coloured leaves and buds that eventually opened out into pink flowers.  I wondered if the plant I originally bought had been a combination of two plants.  I have since purchased two other plants that appeared to be a mix of two separate plants in one pot, a Christmas cactus and  a fuchsia, both of which have red and pink flowers.

The Lord has also been showing me very strange happenings.  A sculptor balancing rocks that seemed to defy gravity, and a dog walking on a tightrope.  I believe He has been answering my prayer to Him to help me in any area of unbelief I may have regarding His promise to heal me completely from something I have had for over thirty years, and His supernatural ability to do this.
If I find these things done by man hard to believe, then am I letting my reasoning cause doubt regarding God's ability to heal me even though I have experienced it in the past.. The problem with the carnal mind is that it has limits to what it will accept as true, particularly as the spiritual enemy is in the carnal mind questioning constantly God's instruction to us.

In Genesis ch. 4 vs. 3 and 4 we are told that:-
'In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the Lord. And Abel also brought an offering—fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The Lord looked with favour on Abel and his offering,'
Cain later killing Abel reminds me of how the preaching of the doctrines of man, represented by the fact that Cain grew things of the earth, can spiritually 'kill' those who are true believers, represented by those who keep sheep (shepherds), who are spiritually brothers of Christ as stated in Romans ch. 8 v. 29:-  'For those God foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers'.

In the Bible the word 'Babylon' means 'Confusion, mixture.'
Chaldea means ' demons; or as robbers,' and it reminds me of the spiritual enemy robbing the church of the truth, causing the church to become confused.
Genesis ch. 11 v. 31 and Genesis ch. 15 v. 7  say that God called Abraham, a Chaldean, out of Ur of the Chaldeans so that Abraham would follow God to the land that God had promised to him and his descendants, and that is what I believe God is calling us to do, to come out of all the spiritual confusion of the demonic spiritual enemy into the truth.

Galatians ch. 3 vs. 6-9 read:-
'So also Abraham 'believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.'
Understand, then, that those who have faith are children of Abraham.  Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: 'All nations will be blessed through you. '  So those who rely on faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.'

Satan can appear as an angel of light.  through our fears he can dissuade us from following the Lord's instructions.
I had something come up in my comments section from a site I did not know saying that it was on a post called  'recovery'  (which I have not put up on my blog), it really encouraged me to continue to believe in my 'recovery'.

When I went down for breakfast a few days ago I turned a Christian programme on the television and a man was saying 'God told me to go to the doctor'.  I can honestly say that I do not see in the scriptures where we are told to do this. Why would that Word give instruction about the laying on of hands for healing, but not about the going to worldly physicians?
Even 'though Jesus was the Son of God, we are told that He learned obedience through the things He suffered (Hebrews ch. 5 v.8), and I believe this also applies to us. Even though we have become children of God through being born again of God's Spirit, we still have to learn obedience.  We are first 'babes' in Christ, feeding on the 'milk' of the Word. Then we 'mature' in Him as we are given the strong meat of that Word.

That was as far as I got in adding to the draft post.  Last night I could not sleep for thinking about why I had started writing it and how I was going to end it.  I definitely had a feeling that I was to put this post up now.  In the early hours of this morning I fell asleep and had a dream.  It was an answer to my question.
In the dream I was given a plant that was broken in two parts at the root. I put the two parts of the root together and, holding them firmly together, put the whole plant in a pot of soil.
I knew that I was being shown that a believer and the Lord are joined as one through the 'root' of the Spirit and that I must not allow anything to separate me from the Word being enlightened to me by the Holy Spirit.

Jesus said in John ch. 14 v. 15:-  'If you love me, keep my commands', and that is not the ten commandments, it is the Rhema Word spoken to me daily, not just being a 'hearer' of that Word but being a 'doer' of that Word to prove it true. I say to Jesus:- 'Lord, I endeavour to stay rooted in Your precious Word, continuing to trust in what You instruct me to do.  Thank You Lord for being my strength in my trials.'

How strange is this! The Fuchsia is called Salou.  I looked up the meaning of the word and one of the answers on the internet said :- 'The numerical value of Salou in Chaldean numerology is 2.' It reminds me of God calling Abraham, who was a  Chaldean to follow Him to the land that God had promised to him and his descendants, just like He is telling me to follow Him, and not to separate from Him.

As Philippians ch. 4 v. 13 states:-

'I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me.'

Hi Brenda,
The great deceiver on the prowl has increased his activity doing his best to tear down the children of God and to stop them from sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. We must never give up hope, always press in with prayer and push through personal fear of man and share the Gospel with the lost. The lost Christian and the lost person who has never yet made the step to follow Jesus.
Yes dear one, follow Him to the land He promised to us. I believe the time is close for Jesus to rapture His bride and my heart cries out to Him to use me to share that truth with all I meet. The Groom is nearly ready to call His bride to the wedding feast.

Blessing and love dear one.

Hi CoG,
I feel exactly the same regarding the great deceiver, he knows his time is short and our lovely Lord will be back. I find many people outside who do not know the Lord, but want to know about Him even though they may not come to a church gathering. The Lord's power is amazing, and His Word has been my stronghold for many years.
Blessings and love to you too as you share the truth with all that you meet. God wants all to be saved, He is the master chess player and we are the pieces that He moves to win the game - which He will do if we are obedient to Him.

Dear Brenda,
Waiting upon God is very much part of our Christian life and it's true that this can take even years. After all, there was up to 25 years between the call of Abraham from Chaldea at 75 years of age to the birth of Isaac at 100 years. And that does not include the years of married life with Sarah before the call of God, which could have been as much as a further 50 years, making an estimated 75 years of marriage before the birth of their only son! That is, assuming that Abraham was 25 years old on his wedding day.
As for the balancing of the stones, during 1995, whilst next to a pebbly stretch of beach in San Diego, I watched this man create astonishing stone towers on sheer balancing alone. It was an incredible demonstration of unusual skill.
Thank you for a good read. God bless.

Hi Frank,
yes, sometimes we have to see something that is above our carnal mind's understanding before we can truly believe and start to understand the power that God has. The restriction is in the area where the spiritual enemy has been allowed access. I know that that God's gift of healing and miracles exist for us because I have received them in the past given to my dad and a believer in an Adelaide church, and also through my own prayer at one time.
The power to contest the enemy is in the Word of God through the mind of Christ, and I pray to God for His strength to be able to take every thought captive and bring it into obedience to what the Lord is telling me and not what the enemy is trying to say that will rob me of God's promises.
God bless you and Alex Frank.

Hi Brenda, This is a weighty post filled with all kinds of truth that speaks into my heart spirit. It is so wonderful God is giving you so many confirmations through His word — and through your life and dreams. I truly believe He can speak to us in any number of ways — and know I need to keep my radar up to see when He speaks to me as well.

God Bless and HEAL you in your trials!! In the MIGHTY name of Jesus!!

Hi Jephyr,
thank you for your lovely comment, it is always good to be encouraged by my brothers and sisters in the Lord. I find that the more He accompanies His word to me with these signs, the stronger I become in Him, and my dreams seem to appear at just the right time. I know that the scriptures say that there is a time for everything, and just as Job was allowed to be tested in his trials so we too are tested to see if we will trust in the One Who has the power to do all things. It is not always easy but all the promises of God are 'Yes' in Jesus. He is not a man that He should lie.
God bless you Jephyr and thank you for your prayer. I say 'Amen, and thank You Lord'.

You are so welcome Brenda. Before reading this I had just written a thank you on my art blog for YOUR encouragement too. :) Yes — I'm certain God uses dreams and had one that I still remember where God was "waking me up" from a worldly slumber I was in. I love Job and am so thankful for that book. I also love when God replies to Job in Chapter 38. We can always be sure when our "answers" line up with God's Word! God Bless and HEAL you Brenda — in Jesus name!

Thank you once again Jephyr for your encouragement. You will probably find this a little hard to believe but about half an hour ago I felt led to come up to my workroom and look into the book of Job. (my husband was watching something on the television in the lounge that I found a little boring) :-) I asked the Lord which chapter I should read but could not decide where to start, even though I had really felt led to read something in the book of Job.
I decided to look at my blog and found your last comment here. I feel very much to read Job chapter 38 now.
God bless you Jephyr, I know the Lord has used you to answer my question to Him, and that He will speak to me through something in that chapter.

Brenda, what was it that made you ask the Lord to teach you about healing?

Brenda said...

Hi Sandi,
the reason I asked the Lord to teach me about sickness and healing, many years ago, was the fact that when I was a young child I was brought home from school quite ill. I lay in bed and my father laid his hands on me and prayed for me to be made well. The atmosphere in the room appeared to turn blue and I was instantly made well. I later had other healings, including a miraculous one where a very large lump which had grown in my breast was instantly removed when a man prayed for me in an Adelaide church. However, there were other times when I was prayed for and I did not get healed, and I noticed many people were prayed for in various churches and were not healed.
So I asked the Lord to teach me about sickness and healing. He highlighted a scripture to me immediately, it was 'Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; ...'
1 Corinthians ch. 2 v.14 tells us that the scriptures are spiritually discerned and I knew that Egypt represents the world and that the Lord was telling me not to trust in worldly strength for my healing.
I have been to only two church gatherings where I have seen and experienced the Spiritual gifts of healing and miracles happening. I really believe that 'tradition' is cancelling out 'truth', and that the church is in danger of many falling away and being deceived by the spiritual enemy. This is prophesied regarding the end times, and many do not even acknowledge the gifts of the Spirit.
This is what I believe I have been shown by the Holy Spirit enlightening the truth to me through that written Word when I have sought the Lord over this issue, and I continue to pray for the gifts to operate in His church.

Dear Brenda,
Praise the Lord that His ways and thoughts are higher than ours, and that His timing and solutions to our trials are always perfect! How amazing that God spoke to both of us through a dream about plants and their roots, and led each of us to write a blog post about it! We can trust Him alone for all our healing. Love and prayers for your healing, and may God bless you richly,
Laurie

Brenda said...

Hi Laurie,
as I read your blog post I could see that God was speaking through very similar things. I was tempted to tell you in my comment, but I thought I would wait for you to see it yourself :-) The thoughts and ways of God are absolutely amazing! How could something like this happen with two believers so far away from one another at the same time. Thank you for your prayers Laurie, and God bless you richly too.

Sandi said...

Brenda, thank you for your response above. That makes a lot of sense to me. Wow...praise God for those healings in your life! I agree with you about the Church. It is a minefield out there and only the Holy Spirit can show us what is the truth and what is a lie. It's subtle in our world, but constant, like drops of water. A little turning here, a single step off the path there, and then...where are we? Thank you for sharing your thoughts here on your blog and also in your thoughtful comments on my posts. Sandi

Brenda said...

Hi Sandi,
it was shortly after I asked God to teach me about sickness and healing that I started to get lumps forming in my body, one large one under my arm and others. Then my trials really began! I knew that I could not go to the world for help because of what the Lord had highlighted to me from His Word through the Holy Spirit, but for over thirty years I have been kept safe through all my trials. When I have been weak, some amazing things have brought me through which I knew were of God, being confirmed through signs accompanying scripture given to me.
I could not tell anyone else to go down the same road as me, it has to come from God what we are called to do, but I know that the only strength I have had to come through these trials (one of the hardest of which I am going through at the moment) is the strength of God.
God bless you Sandi.

Thank you, Brenda. God bless you too.

Hello. I read your post after reading the post on Laurie's blog, I too was struck by the way your both posts had dreams given by God, of flowers!!
He is so awesome! May we cling to the vine of Jesus and abide in His Love and follow him in faith as did Abraham!! Blessings and Shalom!

Brenda said...

Hello shayndel,
it is nice to meat you, and I say a big 'YES' and 'AMEN' to what you have said regarding clinging to the vine of Jesus and abiding in His Love. I have always believed that the Bible is a vocabulary and not a book, that it can speak spiritually and instruct us just as it did to others many years ago. There is no time to God.
I think you may be of Jewish roots, judging by your name (which means 'beautiful'). My grandparents on my mother's side were Jewish, and their ancestors came into the UK in the 1830's.
Blessings and Shalom to you too shayndel.

Brenda, I have a prayer request. I am praying this morning about something. I need to hear from the Lord. If you feel led, would please pray? Thank you! Sandi

Brenda said...

Father,
You know what is in our hearts and our minds, and You know what Sandi is requesting from You. I pray that you will give her Your answer through Your rhema Word spoken to her from the scriptures. For when two or three are gathered together in Jesus' name He is in the midst of us, and He is that Word.
We ask this in the name of Jesus our Lord. Amen and thank You Father.

Thank you!!

It is always a test whether we are really waiting in faith on the Lord.

The Scriptures do refer to Luke as the beloved physician - without criticism.

Brenda said...

Hello David,
yes, there have always been physicians around. As a believer who has experienced the gift of miracles, and healing through the prayer of faith, I have to go to the Great Physician for my healing. Many years ago I asked the Lord to teach me about sickness and healing because I had only seen these gifts operating in two church gatherings. He told me not to go to trust in 'Egypt' (the world) and it's strength through the scripture 'Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help....' and highlighted the scripture about king Aza dying because he went to the physician instead of the Lord.
I would never tell anyone to go down the road that I am, we all have to do what the Spirit leads us to do.

Dear Brenda and Shayndel,
I am often struck by how God will lead me to write something, or teach something in my ladies' class, and then show me that someone else has written about it that week too, or even that the Pastor preaches on the same passage or topic that I just taught in Bible study. God's synchronicity is amazing, especially when it extends to believers across the globe!
God bless you,
Laurie

Brenda said...

Amen, Laurie, to what God is capable of. Every day of our lives is written in His book before even one of them is formed, and yet we do not even know what tomorrow brings.
One of the first scriptures the Holy Spirit highlighted to me was 'Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.'
The 'Lord' is that 'Word' spoken to me daily.
God bless you too Laurie.

Amen, Brenda! God highlighted those same Scriptures (Proverbs 3:5-6) for me many years ago when I spotted them engraved on 2 small stone plaques, for sale at a Salvation Army store. They have been on a shelf over my desk ever since, and they are a great source of comfort and reassurance.
God bless you,
Laurie

Hi Laurie,
yes, I love how the Lord speaks, that Word is a beautiful living word that convinces, convicts and encourages us as we continue our journey. God bless you Laurie.

Brenda...I'm so glad i'm back in contact with you. Thank you thank you for your words here. even your comments inspire me. Just now, with my cracked rib...Im facing the backlash of those who care...that I need to go to the DR. But I do not have medical insurance or a dr...for a reason. The same reason that you speak of here. I too have been healed by the TRUE Healer. I know that it is He I am to look to for my healing. I refuse to be connected to the world's way medical suicide through standard medical practice. And Big Pharma ...is a 'Life sentence'. I'd rather die of natural causes...what ever they may be. I'm not afraid to die. The world is afraid to DIE. Love the scripture you shared about not going down to Egypt! Good point. I will remember that!

The Lord has changed my life in the past 3 years by changing my diet. Diet can reverse dis-ease. The Lord created the body to know how to heal itself...given the right nutrients and care. We have totally abused His creation!..our tabernacle for His Holy Spirit. I'm one that He has made well simply by diet. We are a rare breed though, you and I. We look to the Lord for our strength and healing...and accept the trials and suffering...for His will and His Glory to shine through us. Suffering is OK. We draw closer to Him in our suffering. It's a part of the sanctification process...from glory to glory. He never promised us a bed of roses. It's in the dying to self...that we are raised with Him into new life. I love your dream of the unified roots into ONE! Great revelation there!! Great word picture.

hugs, Brenda

Hi Patrina,
what can I say in answer to your lovely comment except Amen, and Hallelujah to our beautiful Saviour and our Father's unconditional love for us. That Word is a living Word, and as Jesus said, as written in John ch. 6 v. 63:- 'It is the spirit that quickens; the flesh profits nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.'
Whatever is spoken to us, whether it be the 'milk' of the 'word' as babes in Christ, or the 'strong meat' as we grow in Him, we must understand and believe them and 'act' on them. It is no good just being hearers of that Word. God is not a man that He should lie, and if we trust in Him absolutely He will bring about His promise of whatever He has made to us in Jesus as all the promises of God are 'YES' in Jesus.
God bless you Patrina, as you trust in Him, as I do too.
