The greatest sacrifice on earth

When I look at what is going on around the world now, I see things growing closer and closer to the end times prophesied in the Bible when Jesus will return to take up the remnant . There are so many people in this generation that have been brought up to believe the lies of Satan, the spiritual enemy, that the truth of salvation through believing in Jesus Christ - the Word of God - is laughed at and 'anything goes' is being taught as being 'right'. This has brought me to realize how important it is to share the gospel, and to pray regarding this to the Lord. My prayers for the world are contained in the following poems.

Something from nothing

You make something from nothing Lord I know this is true
for You took the old me and made something brand new
You turned pain and sorrow to laughter and joy
saved what Satan was trying so hard to destroy
Now my life is complete while I'm standing in You
and each trial and temptation You carry me through
I can see as my training for the work I must do
as I tell of salvation...... God's grace brought through You

If only

If only I could speak a word
to everyone who's never heard
If I could touch a troubled heart
with words of life that I'd impart
and see the turmoil being stilled
then  Lord my life would be fulfilled
And if I'd see a broken soul
crying out to be made whole
I'd tell them Lord of Calvary
and how You came to set us free
But just to do this simple thing
to sing the song I want to sing
I must have Your authority
for only you can set man free
So Father grant this power to me
that captives might have liberty
anoint with oil this mortal head
then by Your Spirit raise the dead

Lord have mercy on them all
for they know not what they do
the perils of this world surrounding them now
are forbidding their vision of You
Turn their shadowy darkness to reflections of light
let them look on Your wonderful face
for there's no other Saviour can rescue them now
Only Jesus - God's manifest grace

So have mercy great Master, reach down from Your throne
cause Your hand to unlock prison doors
for the captives are weary from fighting alone
they don't know that the battle is Yours
They don't know there's a warrior
a great mighty Lord
the One of Whom boldly we sing
they don't know this Redeemer
with two edged sword
has the power to change everything

For they're locked in their prison
of darkness and woe
powerless - unable to see
that the jailer is Satan
the most cunning foe
who once had a power over me
So now send us dear Father with mercy and grace
out to rescue the injured and dying
close our eyes to what's written on worldly face
let our ears hear imprisoned souls crying

He said to them, 'Go into the whole world and proclaim the good news to every creature. '
Mark ch. 16 v. 15

Amen, amen. Go into all the world. You are doing that here, Brenda.

"this Redeemer
with two edged sword
has the power to change everything..."

I hope this is how it all turns out, not that darkness covers the Earth, but this instead.

Hi Sandi,
everything that is prophesied will come about, even that regarding the darkness, whether it be spiritual or physical. There is a great spiritual darkness on the earth at the moment and I can see that 'unless God intervened all flesh would be destroyed.' The only thing we can do is follow the instruction that the Holy Spirit gives to all of us as much as we can, praying persistently about the situation and for one another. God bless you Sandi, stay safe within the Lord. I think we are very close to the Lord coming back for the remnant.

Amen, Brenda! Beautiful, Scriptural poems as always. It feels that we are so close to the Lord's return. If you have the opportunity, I highly recommend that you see a documentary called "Before the Wrath." It discusses new discoveries about Galilean wedding traditions that support the pre-Trib rapture. I found it uplifting and encouraging.
God bless you,
Laurie

That's right Victor, and that is why we have to spread the Word of salvation through Jesus Christ, the One mediator between man and God. God bless Victor

Hi Shayndel,
isn't our Lord beautiful, and who could not want to spread the word about Him. God bless you.

Amen, Brenda -- all glory to the Lord! May we do all things heartily, as unto Him, and not unto man. God bless you and your lovely ministry.

Thankyou for your kind comment Laurie. As I always say 'All glory to our Lovely Lord. Without Him in my life I would be in a very dark place.

Hi, Brenda!
Your poetry is crafted with a committed heart to the One who gives grace freely and extends an invitation to know Him and love Him. So beautiful.
Thank you,
Mary

Hi Mary,
My first love is our precious Lord Who has given me all that I am able to share, all glory to Him. God wants all to be saved, and to me He resembles the Master chess player Who uses all the pieces to win the game against the spiritual enemy. God bless you in Jesus, our Lord.

Hi Louise (Fundy Blue)
Thank you for your kind comment, we all have to do what we feel is necessary in these times, and I feel that your last post on your blog was a lovely post to put up in these times too. Friendship is needed for many in this world and sometimes can be reached through people's blogs - as in yours. Take care.

Hi Brenda,
I agree, life without our Lord is very dark indeed. I don't understand how the unsaved can even begin to cope with the misery and chaos in this world. Praise the Lord that He is the Light of the world, and that in Him we too can be lights in the world.
God bless you,
Laurie

Hi Laurie,
this world is in the darkest state I have known in my lifetime, and it is so important to try to reach and pray for those who do not know the Lord. The most important thing in these times is to spread the gospel of salvation through Jesus (Y'shua), the One and only mediator between man and God - Who gives access to eternal life. God bless you Laurie, it is lovely to be able to have conversations through blogs.
