The Injured Dove

Recently I had a dream in which I saw an injured dove outside a doctor's surgery. I picked it up and covered it in a cloth, holding it in my arms gently.
It appeared to be comforted.

I had previously had something happen which caused a bit of a conflict with a person I had known for many years. It brought out a conversation which brought about us both speaking about things and issues that had concerned us, and I encouraged the person to always speak to me about their concerns. The person said that they had been filled with stress, something which I had not known even though I was quite close to the person.

I believe the dream of the dove represented the person being stressed confessing to me what was in their mind - the dove being in my arms gently representing a closeness, and I believe that this had actually caused the stress in the person - keeping it in their mind.

This person had been taking a lot of pills for their stress, which I believe the injured dove and the doctor's surgery represented. We are told that if we have something against a person we must go to that person. This to me speaks of even small issues that we don't speak about building up in anyone's mind, and if we are the type of person that allows this to happen it can cause immense stress if we keep it in.
As a born-again Christian, a believer in Jesus, we have access to the mind of Christ, which is contained in the written scriptures, and going to a person when we are bothered about something and speaking about it in a nice manner will remove the thoughts that the spiritual enemy will try to place and keep within our carnal minds.

There is a scripture which can be very spiritually helpful to all of us about worry and concern. It is: -

'Matthew ch. 6 v. 34', which states 'Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.'

I have always said that my DNA is - Do Not Assume.  We can never know what is going on fully in another person's life or mind.

,Hi Sandi ,there is perfect timing with the Lord regarding everything, and distance means nothing to Him. He can speak to all of His children anywhere in the world wit h what He has given all to share. What the spiritual enemy tries to say through the carnal mind to us can never affect us when we bring every thought captive with what the Lord is actually
speaking to each of us daily through the Word given in the mind of Christ that all believers have access to. God bless you Sandi.

"Do Not Assume. We can never know what is going on fully in another person's life or mind." -- So true. Only God is pivvy to that.

Dear Brenda,
I know what it feels like to lose a friend over a dispute from which I'm not blameless.
Despite owning up to my shortcomings and apologising for them, he refuses to forgive me and refuses to be reconciled.
Yet, he knows the Scriptures well, he's a regular churchgoer and he holds a PhD in Genetics.
But I'm also now at peace with God and with myself.
I have no issues with him, even if he refuses to forgive me. This, despite his high IQ, is due to his autism.
Blessing on you and your family.

Dear Frank, from what you have said, you have done everything that God would have required you to do. Being a regular church goer and holding PhD in Genetics on this earth does not necessarily make us right with God. God can interact with us all anywhere, as He does not live in a house made with hands. He is also well able to bring those with autism to Himself, as I have seen in the past.God bless you and Alex on your journey with the Lord.

Absolutely true Sandra. God bless.

Hi Sandi, was it you who removed your comment. I am not sure what 'removed by author' means. Does it refer to the author of the comment or the author of the blog?

Brenda said...

Just to add that I did not remove it. God bless.

Sorry, Brenda. It was me. I came back to read again and I thought what I wrote didn't make sense, so I deleted it. I should have just left it! 🙃

Hi Sandi, me again. I am not sure what that means. There is loads about technology that I don't know. I still don't know what that message meant regarding the author. Does it mean the person who wrote the blog post or the person who wrote the comment, because I would never delete someone's comment from my blog who I was interacting with. These are little things that I like to learn about.

Brenda said...

Thanks Sandi, just learned a bit more about blogging. Ha ha!

Brenda said...

That's right Sandra.

It means the author of the comment. I know you did not delete it, Brenda. I did! 😃

Thanks Sandi,
I've learnt a bit more about blogs.

Dear Brenda, Sunday's sermon in our church was on the mind of Christ. You are right, it is best to bring differences with another into the open rather than to allow them to fester or create bitterness. I agree with your dream interpretation and thank you for the edifying post. God bless, Laurie

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Hi Laurie,
I also had another dream just before I awoke this morning, you have dreams that the Lord speaks to you through also. I will wait to see what the Lord will reveal to me regarding it. It may not be for a blog post. We have been so busy here lately regarding many things that I have not had much time to do anything on the blogs, only get a catchup occasionally. God bless you and yours Laurie.

You are welcome Victor.
God bless.

Hi Brenda,
Praise the Lord that He speaks to us through dreams, as well as through His Word! May we be wise to follow His direction, and to share it with others as the Spirit leads, according to His perfect will and timing. May Gos bless you and your family,
Laurie

DNA= do not assume..That was brilliant! I hate to admit, but I have this terrible flaw, where I do make assumptions sometimes. So much gets pushed aside until it all piles up..like so much dirty laundry to have to sort out and spot-clean long after the dirt has settled deeper within..a hard task to do, much harder than if it had been dealt with right away. God bless you, Brenda \o/

Hi Laurie,
God has a most amazing way to speak to all. Sharing our testimonies, whether on the internet or during our everyday lives while out shopping etc.... I love interacting with people, whatever way God enables me to. My husband always says to people 'If you see any two-legged donkeys around, it's because Brenda has talked the hind legs off them.' - cheek! ha ha! God bless you and yours Laurie.

Hi Lisa,
lovely to hear from you. I really like the analogy (dirty washing) that you have used regarding the DNA. It is very often that a person might say, regarding another - 'That person looks like......' We can never know fully what is in another person's thoughts or life, any more than they can know what is in ours. God bless you Lisa as you journey in the Lord.

The dove makes me think of the dove in the story of Noah (whose name means `rest` or `comfort`), and of the Holy Spirit. Both are associated with comfort.
Blessings and Shalom!

Praise be to the God and Father of our LORD Yeshua the Messiah, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 2Corinthians 1:3~5

Brenda said...

Hi Shayndel. Amen to 2 Corinthians 1 3-5. When we have empathy, we have sympathy. The Lord is the greatest, and only, comfort we have in this troubled world. Thank you for your encouraging comment. God bless you with all He has for us in Yeshua.

Hi Brenda,
Your husband sounds like quite the comedian! I love it when God opens the door for us to share the Gospel with another, whether in person or on the Internet. I led a friend of mine to the Lord years ago by writing her a letter. May we continue to be bold for Christ. God bless.

Brenda said...

Hi Laurie,
yes, my husband can be quite amusing, and cheeky:-), but it never stops me from 'talking' to people I come across outside. I love interacting with all that I meet and know that it is meant to be. God bless and guide us all in the direction we are meant to go.

Hi Brenda,
Amen -- keep doing what you're doing as you follow God's will. My husband also has a gift for making people laugh -- he gave a testimony today, starting with humor and ending with a powerful message to trust the Lord. God bless you too.

Hi Laurie, the more I try to bring my life into God's ways, the more I feel the greatest love I have ever encountered. The spiritual enemy can be very cunning, and will try to divert us from God's teachings, but if we take every thought captive and bring it into obedience to what is being spoken to us from the written Word then we shall win the race. God bless you and your husband Laurie as you both share your testimonies in the Lord.
