God's will or mine ?

When I first came to the Lord I was baptized and came up out of the water speaking in a language I had never learned, in the scriptures we are told it is speaking mysteries to God, which no man understands  ( 1 Corinthians ch. 14 v.2 ). Almost immediately I felt as if I was communicating with the Lord through the Word written and through poems and songs that started coming into my mind.

One of the first poems that came to mind was as if I was being asked a question by the Lord, I called it 'What do you want child?'

WHAT DO YOU WANT CHILD?

'What do you want child ' the Lord will now ask
'is it riches, fortune and fame?
or is it great wisdom and knowledge of God
to bring help to the blind and the lame?
Only you can decide, just like Solomon did
the choice is now laid at your feet
but this one thing I'll tell you child - choose now the best
and your joy will be full and complete

As I journeyed on with the Lord there were thoughts which came into my mind which were also in the form of poems and songs. The following is one of them.

A THOUGHT THAT I HAVE

There's a thought that I have in my heart Lord
a desire above all that I seek
It's to serve You according to Your will
yet I know in this world I am weak
But although in myself there is weakness
I know You are the One Who is strong
So teach me Your ways and Your will Lord
that I might serve You all day long

'I will love Thee O Lord my strength.' Psalm 18 v.1

In these times many appear to have fallen away from, or do not want to hear about, Jesus and seem to be more interested in fame and fortune. I finish this post with a short poem that reflects this.

MY LORD IS STRONGER THAN MY FOE

Have care and compassion now gone out of fashion
and 'Make them all pay' become phrase of the day
They don't seem to care about me and you
and only seem guided by 'Revenue'
As I gaze in wonder - this I know
My Lord is stronger than my foe
I don't get what I've paid for 'God's wrath - eternal strife'
I get what Jesus prayed for - and that's eternal life

Thank you so much Brenda.
God is so good.

Hi Aritha, as the scriptures tell us 'Only God is good' and,as He is Spirit, once we are born of His Spirit then we are able to share His goodness. Praise His lovely name. God bless you Aritha.

Hi Brenda,

Praise the Lord for His Spirit moving in you to write these poems that so beautifully communicate His truth. May we set our minds and hearts on treasures in Heaven. May God bless you richly.

He is risen! He is risen indeed!

Hi Laurie, yes thank the Lord that the Father sent His Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth. It is so important that we share what we have been given in these times when the lies of the spiritual enemy is rife in the world. God bless you.

Your testimony is beautiful. The Lord has given you a wonderful gift in poetry and it is a blessing to us! Happy Resurrection Day.

Hi David,
'Amen' to the lovely scripture you have referred to. It is definitely the Word of God that has a power to bring us through hard trials. God bless.

Hi Mary, thank you for your kind comment - all glory to our precious Lord. I have always seen the Lord as the master chess player, and we as his chess pieces that He moves around to win the game. God bless you.

Beautiful verses and testimony of how He released this gift when you were baptized. It reminds me of Jesus` baptism and the voice of the Father well pleased with His beloved son. As I read your verses and saw the way you so thoughtfully arranged the words in calligraphy and with the pictures, oh how the Father is pleased by you His daughter as you pen these words of love and praise and shine your light for all to see His glory as He works in you. Blessings!

Thank you for your lovely comment Shayndel, all glory always to our precious Lord and His forgiving Father. We can all overcome the spiritual enemy by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. Without the sacrifice of Jesus we could not have eternal life, and after experiencing my NDE I would want all to go to that beautiful place of peace after leaving this turbulent world. God bless you my sister in Christ.

Great post Brenda. Hope all is well with you. It's been a while. I still blog occasionally on wordpress but I haven't been on blogspot in a very long time.

Brenda said...

Hi Sateigdra, lovely to see you. I wouldn't know how to go onto WordPress.,I am not brilliant on the Internet. I am OK in the Lord, going through some health trials but being encouraged by the Word to trust in the Lord for all of God's promises that are 'Yes' in Jesus. God bless and keep safe in the Lord.

Amen, Brenda! May we yield to the Holy Spirit, letting Him speak through us to communicate His love and truth to a lost, dying world. God bless you.

Hi Victor, yes, we are here to serve our Lord and Saviour, and His Will is God's Will. God bless.

Brenda said...

Hi Laurie,
yes, in this world the spiritual enemy can be rife - we must endeavour to seek and find the truth in our Lord, and do our best to share it and not fall away from it through the lies of the enemy. God bless you.

Thank you, Brenda, for continuing to share God's truth. May we be sober and vigilant to not fall prey to Satan's lies. May God bless you richly,
Laurie

Satan is a liar and a thief Laurie, and works through the carnal mind. We have access to the mind of Christ when we are born of the Holy Spirit, and He is always the winner if we keep focusing on the Word He speaks to us. God bless you Laurie.

Hi Brenda, thank you for your comment on my blog post. Your poetry is such a blessing, so beautiful and accurate with scripture, so it definitely is a true gift from the Lord. Can I ask you how long ago you were saved? I was saved in 1988 out of the new age movement and witchcraft. God is gracious and merciful. ❤️

Funny that I still cannot even comment on my own blog, only here, but it’s as the Lord would have it, I suppose.

Hi Susan,
for some reason I can not get into your Bible treasures and pearls blog unless I say I accept this message that comes up on it, which I have not felt safe to do, you never know what it is -

'This blog may contain sensitive content. In general, Google does not review or endorse the content of this or any blog. For more information about our content policies, please visit Blogger's community guidelines'

I think it was about the mid 1980's I was saved, in the Adelaide Revival Centre in Adelaide. I came up out of the baptismal water speaking in a language I had never learned. In the scriptures it says it is speaking mysteries to God. We have travelled many times since then, but the Lord gave me all the poems and songs to write, they just started coming into my head.

Since I have gone over to Windows 10 many of the blogs I have always had on my sidebar have gone, or been moved down the bottom of the bar. I do not know enough about altering these things so I try to answer whoever comes over to comment through their details in the comment. Thank you for your lovely comment.
God bless, and just keep on sharing what the Lord gives you to share.

That is so strange about that message coming up, I had no idea, it doesn’t happen when I open it...wow....so strange. I had received a comment from someone saying he wanted the link to his page removed from Bible Treasures, but I cannot even change anything on the format anymore, and cannot contact him to tell him I cannot remove him. 😢🙏😔 Maybe I needed to update something or maybe their formatting doesn’t work with my tablet for some weird reason. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I love reading the book of Job! I learned so much this time around. It is a profound book! Thank you for you visit and comment ❤️

Hi Susan
It sounds like there are many things happening with bloggers these days, the main thing is we share what we feel to share and interact with one another when we can. I like the book of Job too, and also Psalm 103. God bless you with all He has for us in Jesus.

Susan said...

Brenda, I now see what you mean about Bible Treasures blog 😢 I think perhaps these are signs that I might not be on blogger much longer...Jacob Prasch also mention in his latest video that Canada is pushing to strictly censor all internet activity and I live in Canada so I know things are going to tighten up drastically soon...so I will try to continue to do as much as I can while I can, but I think I am going to be shut down completely very soon. God bless you for your inspiration and encouragement. Love you ❤️🙏

There are quite a few blogs that I had on my sidebar that have been taken off. Why don't you set up a new blog Susan, call it by a different name and tell us what it is called. You can put all the same things you want to write about on it. Love you too my friend and sister in the Lord.

Susan said...

Brenda I was considering starting a new blog, not sure if I will but if I do I will let you know for sure. ❤️👍🏼

Great, thanks Susan. God bless.
