For God so loved the world

Can we even imagine what it must have been like for Jesus to go to that cross.
The answer is 'no' because in order to know what it is like we would have to have suffered that pain and be physically dead.
So why would anyone want to die so horrifically for those whom He did not even know?
The answer to that question is 'He died because, being born of God's Holy Spirit, He has an unconditional love for all of mankind, and was sent to save all from eternal death.'

He paid the price for all of mankind's sins, enabling us to become children of God through believing in Him. He is the Word of God made flesh.

No comfort for my Lord

No comfort for my Lord
as He hung upon that tree
that dark and lonely Friday
at a place called Calvary
No lips to say 'I love You'
or kiss the bloodied cheek
no strong arms there supporting
that body bruised and weak
No loving arms to hold Him
no hands to stroke His face
What pain He must have suffered
when He chose to take my place
He'd said 'Not my will Father
but let Your will be done'
though He knew what lay before Him
this Jesus - God's Son

'Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He has consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, His flesh, and having a high priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith.......
Hebrews ch. 10 vs. 19-22

So how then do we draw near with a true heart?  It is not just with reading that Word but acting upon it. For it is only by doing that can we change spiritually.  It is the old man that has to die and the new man in Christ that must grow and mature.
I was born with a birthmark on my left wrist, it was just like a side picture of a shoe. When I became born again of God's Spirit it started to fade and there is no sign of it there at all now. This reminds me very significantly of how I must no longer WALK according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

The sin is in the flesh and must die, that is what Jesus' Crucifixion represents. Our new life is in the risen Christ.

And their sins and iniquities will I  remember no more. Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin .Hebrews ch. 10 vs. 17 and 18.

A PLACE CALLED JESUS
There is a place, a quiet place
where we can come to pray
a place of calm called Jesus
where we can be each day
So open up your eyes to see
what mercies lie inside
It was for everyone of us
that Jesus came and died
