Jesus -' Yahweh saves'

I just feel that I would like to dedicate this post to praising God and His Son Jesus.

Messiah

I watch in anguish every day
as killing, torture, hatred reign
In horror turn my eyes away
hoping somehow to reduce the pain
I cry
despair and sorrow gripping me
Then Jesus comes
saying 'Child ...I see'
and the burden is removed from me

I stumble blindly down life's road
through shifting sand and mists of sin
bent low by fortune's heavy load
deep lonelines and fear within
I scream
held tightly by frustration's hand
Then Jesus comes
saying 'Child ...I understand'
and shows to me a promised land

I reach towards this man of love
this gentle lifter of my head
empowered by Spirit from above
to wake from sleep the living dead
I breathe....
as new life stirs within my soul
Then Jesus comes
saying 'Child ...I make you whole
and give you back what Satan stole'

I listen ...now familiar sound
a still small voice dispels the gloom
my step a dance upon the ground
as I arise from earthen tomb
I praise
my song 'Emmanuel'
The Christ has come!
saying 'All is well
for I have conquered death and hell'

Your love is .....

Your love is a power a life giving line
that stretches from Heaven to this heart of mine
giving life to a soul that once was dead
lifting hands that hung down as if weighted with lead
and causing a tongue that sang only of fear
to sing a new song to all who will hear
Now this heart responds to Your love that heals pain
like a rose that unfolds to the gentle rain
My soul awakens and leaves the grave
reborn by Your Word that came to save
With hands lifted high - all heaviness gone
I honour my Saviour the Holy One
My tongue praises God for His two edged sword
and the song that I sing says.....
'Jesus is Lord!'

Oh Lord what is man that You should love him?

Oh Lord what is man that You should love him
Oh Lord what is man that You should care
What is there in me that You should die in agony
on a hill far away and so bare?

Father, what caused You to send Jesus
Your beloved, most precious Son
the one sacrifice good enough to pay the price
of redemption for what we had done?

There was no other could pay that great price
a lamb without blemish You required as sacrifice
Jesus was willing to stand in my place
now I'm sheltered by forgiveness
as I'm saved through God's grace

So Father, I thank You for sending Jesus
Your beloved, most precious Son
the one sacrifice good enough to pay the price
of redemption for what we had done

Great writings, it gave me some of those goose bumps you get when you know you're in the presence of the Lord. I also add that I just got back from clicking a link here on your sidebar wherein I thought I saw my name, Kelline Pickett, but it's actually a post using the singer "Kellie Pickler." As my family still calls me "Kelli", I suppose my eyes played tricks on me. That was supremely strange.

Very nice - Biblical. You remind me that so much of the Bible itself is poetry and song.

Hi Kelline,
I just felt I wanted to praise the Lord for who He is in my life. Thankyou for your kind comment. That what you said about my sidebar... I have got your blog on my blog list on the sidebar here, I haven't got a link to a singer though. What is that?

Brenda said...

Hello Dennis,
thankyou for leaving a kind comment. Yes, you are right, there are beautiful songs and poems in the scriptures aren't there. I think they must be even more beautiful in the original language. Some languages have a much deeper meaning than when they are translated into English, I know the Welsh language has a word 'dysgu' in it which means both to 'learn' and to 'teach'.

Hi Brenda,

This is very beautiful, eloquent and spiritually connecting. Your poetry surly brings scripture to life and in ways where preaching and/or teaching never could. God bless you my sister and keep the poetry and testimony coming because we love seeing the Lord in action through you!

Blessings!

Hi Darryl,
thankyou for your kind comment, I thank God for all of my brothers and sisters in the Lord who are sharing His gospel with the world. I know that nobody knows the time of the Lords return but I do believe that the end is near, and that is why I have set up a blog for those who do not know Him, with the scripture and poems that I take out into the street. I know it is only a small part of the evangelism that is taking place in the world, but how can we keep silent when we have been in the sadness of this world and know that there is a doorway out that leads into everything beautiful that the Father has prepared for those who believe on Jesus.

Brenda I love the praise! It doesn't matter how we feel as long as we have praise. Praising lets us feel His touch right down to our very soul! Your praises are beautiful!
Blessings . . . Chelle

Yes Chelle,
you are right about praise, it lifts us like nothing else can. It is like when Jehoshaphat praised God and all his enemies were destroyed, when we praise Him all our spiritual enemies will be destroyed, and I want others who do not know Jesus to rest in this kind of peace, that's why I've set up the other blog. Who would want to keep this kind of love to themselves? I've been in this world's insecurity and incincerity and I know what it feels like.
Thankyou for your kind comment.

Hi Brenda, I was referring to a post by another blogger listed on your sidebar. Their blog post was about Kellie Pickler the singer from "American Idol" or "America's Got Talent."

Brenda said...

Ah yes,
checked it.

Just amazing poetry, easily good enough for a book. I have tried to write rhyming poetry myself but I just do not have a penchant for it; I'm a prose sort of person myself. I love reading this poetry though; they're like songs, they connect with a different place than mere preaching and teaching.

Brenda said...

Hi Tim,
thankyou for your kind comment. I only started writing the poetry after I became a christian. The strange thing is that I actually 'feel' the poetry, even when it relates to other people. You make me smile, I have to look up the meanings of many words that you use, such as 'penchant' ( I will have to look it up, I don't know what it means ). I used to enjoy English lessons in school, but there are many words I do not know the meaning of. I like prose too, and some of my writings are in prose form. Just googled 'penchant'.... a strong liking. Forever learning eh?

Hi Brenda, you are such a great poet.
I think that you can write the whole Bible in a poetic form. Thank you!

Brenda said...

Hi Joy,
thankyou for your kind comment, although I don't think I can take any credit for what I write. Everything about God and Jesus and the love that is there for us all would inspire anybody to want to write about it.
God bless you Joy.

Hi Brenda,
very insightful as always...got me thinking exactly what would have become of us had God not sent his son Jesus to save us.

thanks for sharing, you are such an amazing writer and a great poet. Bless you.

Priscy said...

Also, thanks for all the amazing comments you have been leaving on my blog, I truly appreciate. God bless.

Brenda said...

Hi Priscy
thankyou for your kind comments,I think we would have destroyed ourselves if God had not sent Jesus. I think the world is well into the end times anyway, and that is why I felt led to start my other blog, aimed at people who might not know that we have to be born again of the Spirit to enter the Kingdom of God. If I was to encourage just one unbeliever through it then it is worth putting it there. I like interacting with people and enjoy reading other people's blogs, including yours.
God bless you.

Hi, Brenda.
I wanted to answer you the questions you asked on my blog.
The stories are not associated to my life in any way, everything I write there is just fiction.
Neuropsychology, well, It's hard to explain in few words, it's a kind of bridge between psychology and neurology, we treat the psychological part of patients with stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis and the like.
Thank you for stopping by.
Cheers!

Ah right, thankyou Humberto, I was looking earlier for where I had left my question on your blog to see what you had answered and couldn't remember on which post I had put it. You are very kind to come over and explain.

Hi Brenda!

I answered you on my blog but thought I'd post it here as well:

Re: Translate tool -

I understand what people will see will vary a bit from browser to browser and version to version when using tools like this.

I use the latest Firefox browser and a click with your cursor opens a pop-up window with a list of languages to select from. I tried it here on your blog and it works just fine for me.

But for me it isn't available when using the latest version of MS Explorer but works fine in Google Chrome.

Thank you for letting me know Humberto has that tool!

: )

When I have a bit more time I'll come back and read over this post...I'm always Blessed by what you share!

Hi again Brenda! I saw your reply back on my blog and had a moment and decided to read your latest here.

Lovely words!! Messiah is beautifully written...there is sadness and truth...and of course our great hope in Jesus!! I love the variations on the refrain style!

At long last I'm in a place where I can "amen" and understand "Your Love is....."!! I love the descriptive poetic lines like: lifting hands that hung down as if weighted with lead!!

And "What is Man" is so true. What a Blessing to understand that sacrifice and the gift of Mercy Jesus bought for those who believe!!

God Bless!

Brenda said...

Thankyou Jephyr for your kind comments, 'What is man that You should love him?' is a song that formed from coming to know the Lord. Being born again of God's Holy Spirit has transformed my life, I have seen the love of God as it really is meant to be seen, revealing to me a love that surpasses all that I ever thought was 'love'. It is also teaching me that my own human love falls far short and I want to learn how to love in that way, because I believe that there is something about true forgiveness, and particularly keeping no record of wrongs, leads to a peace of mind that passes understanding.

Hi Brenda, haven't read from you for a while and I'm worried. Hope you are Ok?
