Last night I had a dream. In the dream I was above ground looking down onto the back of the house that I was brought up in. It was as if I was hovering above the back garden of that house. I could see a man talking to a group of people. It was like a group of people in a lecture, and the man speaking was like the lecturer.
As I gazed upon the scene, this man suddenly put some birds in bags and started to beat them. I could not believe that he was trying to kill these poor birds, and felt extremely sad. The lecture ended and the people went away. Then I was in the garden, holding the bags and looking at the poor birds inside them . I realized that they were still alive, but struggling. I was afraid to take them out of the bag in case I should find broken wings or legs that would restrict the birds from flying.
I looked to the back door of the house and cried 'Mam, mam...... help', hoping that my mother would come and help these poor creatures, but my mother did not appear at the door. It was as if I was in two time zones, the past and the present, as if the lecture and the damage being done to the birds by the lecturer was the present, but the looking to my mother for help was looking to the past.
Then it was as if I was carried from the past to the future with the bags of injured birds in my hands. I called to my husband, and showed him the injured birds in the bag. I told him that I was concerned that they would not be able to fly and asked for his help.
I awoke and almost immediately the meaning of the dream began to form in my mind.
Calling for my mother represents calling on the help of those of the earth that I would have turned to before I was born again and became part of the church. Calling for my husband represents prayer to the Lord for help, as the church represents the bride of Christ. So as part of the church (the bride of Christ) I pray to the Lord (the husband of the bride) for help in the Spiritual situation of those who are in the kingdom of Heaven (those represented in my dream by the birds), who are being silenced (represented by the beating and putting in bags) by man's doctrine (represented by the lecture that the man who was silencing them was giving).
The whole of the dream represents what I believe is happening now in the church, as was foretold by Jesus in Matthew ch. 24, that there will be false teachers and prophets.

Much of what was happening in the Israel of old is in danger of happening in the church today. We have to be taught by God and not by man, and the only way that is done is through the Holy Spirit operating within the church. It is a spiritual warfare that we are in, and I believe the beating and silencing of the birds in my dream represents the endeavouring by the spiritual enemy to stop God's Spirit operating through born again believers doing what they are called to do when they gather together. 2 Peter ch. 2 vs. 1 and 2 says:-
'But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed.'

There is only One voice we must listen to and One Word we must act upon in order to grow strong in the Lord and in faith.

I always love it when you share your dreams. Sad dream indeed with the 'beating' of the birds. Amazed that you received understanding immediately. I'm still an avid dreamer, but wisdom and understanding rarely comes to me so quickly.
on my second read of the dream...your words in the following sentence grabbed my attention.

you were taken to the 'future' with the bag of injured birds in YOUR hands. At some point,the birds were entrusted to you. You were positioned 'in the garden', which speaks of your intimate relationship with the Lord. (as in the beginning)I don't think, and I believe you agree, that we can't have an intimate relationship with the Lord without a relationship with His Holy Spirit.
You were entrusted with the birds because of your intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit's counsel. Could it be that you are being called to either intercede for the church body as a whole and/or a specific group(s) that the Lord has opened your eyes to see? When we are flying in dreams, it usually suggests that we are being taken or promoted to a higher spiritual level. I think you were allowed to see and experience the Lord's heart in this matter of deception. And when He allows us to see and feel His heart on a matter...we are awakened in a new way.
It may be that the Lord is preparing you for a 'new thing'. It won't happen right away...because you held the bags of birds in the future. But His plan to use you was written in your book in Heaven even before you were born or born again. It could be that He's opened a new chapter in your book...because he knows you are ready. Maybe you weren't ready in the past...for whatever reason. But He knows that now is the time to look into the bag that He has entrusted to YOU. He doesn't call the equipped. He equips those He calls. Do not be afraid to take the birds out of the bag and tend to their care as the Father has cared for you. You can count on His specific instructions. You always do .
May I encourage you to ask the Holy Spirit to give you strength to open the bag/prison doors and really look at the beaten and broken birds. To hold them,and speak life into them as Jesus was sent to do. It would seem to me...because I know how the Holy Spirit speaks to you, as you have shared here on your blog...that the Lord may be calling you to be His hands and feet in a matter that He is showing/has shown in the past. May I encourage you. Just walk...it will be OK. The Lord says "Do not be afraid ...be strong and courageous, for the Lord will be with you wherever you go." Don't be afraid...bind up their wounds and set them free.
I say this because I recently heard a prophet here in America speak of a dream he had that left him with a spiritual knowing that the Lord is raising up people to walk in an anointing that He is giving, to become a 'defender of the weak and wounded'. He was speaking of those wounded by the church. It was a powerful message.
Just know that I'm praying for you concerning this dream. Your dream spoke to me specifically. And I know we both share a fondness for birds. Particularly the white dove. My dreams, and most probably yours, are sometimes multifaceted. The Lord continues to recall dreams of yesteryear....into today for me. They are like His love language to those of us who are dreamers with Him. I am constantly receiving new understanding for many of my dreams, as I hear or read another's spoken or written words. Even scripture that Ive read many times before...suddenly opens up in a dream that I had not see before.

that is right, we must not be distracted by anything that is not from God. I know that I can only work out my own salvation but it is good to share testimonies, especially in these end times as the spiritual enemy is rife. God wants all to come to the knowledge of salvation through Jesus, and we can only do what He has called us to do and pray for one another and those who do not know Him.

as I read your comment I cried, something I only usually do when I feel the presence of the Lord. It is not coincidence that you have left this comment, there are many things you have written here that link to what is happening in my life. I have always loved intercessory prayer, and have started once more to feel the Spirit of the Lord within me causing me to speak at certain times in a gathering that I feel the Lord has led me to, and I have been invited to a prayer meeting that they have by a couple who have offered to pick me up and take me there. It is as if it is being set up for me by the Lord, and not of my own doing.
When I awoke from the dream it was early in the morning and I had to get out of bed and come down to my computer room to write down the dream and all I felt the Lord was revealing to me concerning its meaning.
Where you say 'He doesn't call the equipped. He equips those He calls', I agree absolutely with you.
Thank you so much for your encouragement, I know the Lord has sent His message to me through you. Years ago I saw many beautiful things happen in a gathering that started from five people, including healing and miracles, which operated in the way that the church operated according to scripture two thousand years ago. That gathering grew to many more within a year. Each person did what the Lord had called them to do and the Spirit was not quenched.
That was where I first saw the flashing light with the dove flapping its wings just like what was on the side bar of your blog, when my eyes were closed and I was praying.

That was a very revealing dream you shared here. And the apostles were right, they predicted that heresy will infect the church with certainty, especially after their departure.
Scholars of church history are fully aware that from the time of Emperor Constantine uniting the Church with the State in the early fourth Century A.D. - pagan practices, including the papacy, worship of Mary, and the doctrine of Purgatory, were gradually being absorbed by the Church.
Nowadays, heresy can be very dangerous because from the outside, it can make good sense or sound very Biblical, and therefore can deceive many.
Thank goodness that we have the Holy Scriptures, the only true and worthy yardstick to which all teachings can be evaluated.

What a richly symbolic and meaningful dream! I agree with your insightful interpretation. Isa. 40:31 is a special verse to my husband and me in our dance ministry, and one of the songs we choreographed to shortly after we were saved was "On Eagles' Wings." I have just modified and added an additional verse to the song "Golden Dream," which pictures America as a golden eagle, to emphasize that unless we seek, honor, and humble ourselves before God, we can no longer be a great nation.

I agree that we all need to lean more on the Lord than on man. As he said "lean not on your own understanding". It's a hard lesson to learn though, because we see each other. Leaning on the Lord means having a lively faith and trust that allows me to believe in what I don't see.

This is an encouraging post Brenda. False teachers and False prophets definitely are a HUGE problem today in the church, and even in the world we see so many "life coaches" gurus popping up all over the place and being endorsed by famous people in order to make them appear trustworthy and like legitimate counsel to heed, it's all the work of the enemy. Many are being carried off with their lies. We were warned in scripture to Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. (Colossians 2:8) Sadly many are not allowing God to teach them, instead they are denying the power of the Holy Spirit by being carried of with trusting in the commandments of man instead of having faith in the power of God.
I love that little poem/song you shared, very beautiful. I hope more persons realize what is going on. I hope people call to mind the instructions of the Lord and heed them during these very wicked days full of deceptions and seducing spirits leading people off into heresy and blasphemy. I have a saying that today in many churches we have standing behind the pulpits men who were taught by men, who were taught by men, who were taught by men, who were not taught by God. That is a major part of the problem. Many are also unable to distinguish between the commandments of man and the commands of God, this problem exists because men are teaching their commands like they are the very commands of God and the BIGGEST problem is that almost nobody is actually testing these spirits to see who's from God, only a few actually go to God in prayer for wisdom to understand His word, and even less are studying His word but instead are merely trusting the word of their Pastors or mentors or whomever they call their covering. Our covering is supposed to be God's Spirit not man, our counsel is supposed to be from God's Spirit (Isaiah 30:1). I pray more eyes be opened to what is going on. We must, "Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;" 1 Peter 1:13

the spiritual enemy knows his time is short and is trying to rob God's people of His promises, which are 'Yes' in Jesus. The battle is not ours, it is the Lord's and as long as we remain in Him and continue to pray and allow the Holy Spirit to counsel and comfort us, then we shall grow and mature.
I totally agree with your saying regarding 'men taught by men, who were taught by men.....' This is the traditions of man making void the word of God, as you have said regarding Colossians ch. 2 v. 8.

I am not sure of the colour of the birds, I think they were a mixture of light and dark greys, but still not completely sure.
I believe this could be a message from God as what comes to my mind is He warns us in dreams, and I believe the warning that my dream could be symbolizing is about man's doctrine making void the Word of God. I believe this is what I am being shown and it goes together with scripture regarding these times, which is being highlighted to me constantly when I open my Bible to read.

As for your dream, there are two ways to look at dreams and visions, personal and corporate. I think you're interpretation is a great personal interpretation. It is applicable and scriptural. However, I believe that God consistently uses his Symbolism, when the message is directly from him.
Also, we are one not to interpret our own dreams are visions but to elicit those who have the gift of prophecy to interpret for you. Even Kings and Prophets don't interpret their own dreams.
Getting back to your dream, typically, orators or speakers are consistently symbolize as prophets. They can be prophets of God or Satan, depending on what they are doing.
Birds of the air, especially Black Birds, are symbols of the disciples of Satan.
Parents are symbols of faith.
Spouses, especially husbands, are symbols of God or messengers Of God.
Speaking across dimensional or time barriers are very consistently used symbols of prayer or reliance on Gods Word.
I believe that your dream is a warning.
The speaker is a prophet of Satan.
The bag is in an illusion.
The birds are disciples of Satan.
You represent the true believer, the remnant of God.
The people sitting represent the church, by name only. They are not true believers. They are the ones that follow the prophet of Satan rather than God.
The prophet of Satan appears to be beating down or killing the disciples of Satan. However, it is an illusion. They are alive and well.
Your concern for them is your desire to save them, true agape love for everyone regardless of their condition.
Now notice that it was only after you relied on the Word of God and through prayer, you were able to see through the illusion. This is symbolized by you calling to your mother. By the way, what you see personally as your mother not answering was actually Spiritual discernment given to you by God himself
The illusion is do the lie that will blind the church, except for the remnant, during the end times. You are 100% correct in recognizing that the lie is denominational lies that do not follow the Word of God.
As I said before, I Believe this is a warning from God, concerning someone that you have met or are going to meet that will present himself or herself as a servant of God but is in reality a prophet or servant of Satan.
Be extremely cautious of anyone you encounter that wishes for you to be a part of what they are doing or want you to be a part of what they are doing. Strong discernment will be needed soon.

I am not sure really about a few things. Where you say birds of the air are symbols of disciples of Satan, aren't we told that those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles.
In Job ch. 33 it says about God speaking to man through dreams, I am not sure if it says that a dream has to be interpreted by another person always. What is to stop God from giving me the gift of interpretation of dreams, as He can with others.
Regarding black birds, I have never heard of birds being disciples of Satan, is it in the Bible? The raven that Noah sent out is a black coloured bird.

I am not condemning what you are saying, I am always interested in what other people believe, but I have to have it line up with scripture.
Regarding people wanting me to fit in with what they do, that is what I have had all my spiritual life Keith. When I first was rejected for what I believe and say in church gatherings when it did not go together with what was being preached, even though it was scriptural, I went home and cried. I opened my Bible and the scripture highlighted to me was:-
'If you were of the world, it would love you as its own. Instead, the world hates you, because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. Remember the word that I spoke to you: ‘No servant is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will persecute you as well; if they kept My word, they will keep yours as well.'
(John ch. 15 vs. 19, 20)
There is a sentence that I have always felt and which I often say to people. 'I feel as if I am in this world but not of this world'
When I was a child I used to have two dreams constantly. One was that I was flying through the air and trying to get away from something that was chasing me, but it was as if the clouds were preventing me from getting out of the world to where I wanted to go. The other dream was that I was finding money in the grass all the time.
Hi Brenda, In Biblical Symbolism, we have to look for either the direct or indirect usage of a word or phase. As for the "Birds of the air.", remember that I asked for specifics. Eagles are majestic, strong and solitary creatures. However, birds, especially black birds, are group and bottom feeders, scavengers. They are never seen in a complimentary form. Even the Raven, that was used by Noah, did a lot of busy work, but was never fruitful. It wasn't until the Dove was sent out, that God's Will was set on track. Here are a few verses on how birds are depicted, within the scriptures. Genesis 15:11, Deuteronomy 28:26, Revelation 18:2.
However, let's go to the source. Y'shua gives us the meaning of the "Birds of the air.", in Matthew 13:4 and Matthew 13:19. In 13:4, he mentions the "Birds of the air" and in 13:19, he identifies them. It's quite straightforward that they are Demons, Evil Spirits, Disciples of Satan, et.
As for interpreting dreams, I can never recall one time, that someone interpreted their own dreams. Yes, God gives some of his peoples the ability to interpret dreams, but to edify the Body of Christ, the Remnant. It is the same way that the Gift of Tongues are used within the Body. One Speaks. Another interprets. Even in prayer, the speaker doesn't interpret tongues, God does. If I were to think of the greatest prophet, through which God spoke with dreams, it would be Daniel. Notice, not one time did Daniel interpret his own dreams.
As for husbands symbolizing God or a representation, all we have to do is look to what the Bible continually refers to as the Husband of Israel or the Bridegroom of the Remnant. God and the Messiah. Isaiah 54:5 and John 3:29, just to name two. There are many others.
By the way, I never take, what you say as condemning. The Spirit of God flows through you. The Remnant recognizes each other. I also commend you for making me prove, through scripture, the message. Acts 17:11
As for your dream, it could be a warning of or even preparing you for a major "Spiritual Bump in the Road", not necessarily, what you have already experienced, up to now. I think the main message, is always validate you life and beliefs, with scripture.

As for my loving all creatures - you will probably laugh. I saw a butterfly not moving on the outside of my friends window. I went outside, saw it was held by one thread of a spider web on its leg. I touched the web with a dead palm leaf and the butterfly flew off. It made my day.

I would never dishonor your love for the sanctity of life. When a undesired insect gets in the house, I always attempt to relocate it to the outdoors, rather than kill it.
As for your dream, Bottom line: I think your dream is a personal message, as you have discerned it. However, at the corporate level, message to ensure your and our armor is fit for battle, before the fight begins.
As a side note of interest, concerning the doctrine of man, I think you know my position on that. :-) LOL Man-Made denominations or doctrines are the best weapon Satan has ever used against the Remnant. He has been so successful utilizing deceptive doctrines to split the Body, that most believers don't even know that they are going to hell.

I do exactly the same with insects, when I was a child I could not even walk down the street that I lived in without looking everywhere to make sure I did not step on an ant, and I used to rescue worms that were gushing down the gutters in the pouring rain.
I was praying to the Lord in bed last night about this situation, two scriptures came into my mind One was where, in Matthew ch. 6 v. 26 Jesus says:-
'Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?'
This reminds me of Spiritual Israel(the church), as Jesus was talking to the Jews, and those outside the church (represented by the birds) who are also being fed through evangelising.
Here Jesus is saying that God feeds the birds, and I could see how all of creation can be used to symbolize a situation to reflect good or bad without the creature itself being either.
The other scripture that came into my mind was Luke ch. 8 v. 21:- 'But He replied, 'My mother and brothers are those who hear the word of God' and carry it out.'
I believe this goes together with the fact that the lecture was going on at the house where my mother should have been (with my brother and sisters), but she was not there and no one came out. This would represent no one that hears the word of God being in the house.
I had another dream last night Keith. I was in a church building which was nearly empty but I could hear people speaking and singing. I knew you were there at first but I could not find you. Then I saw you at a distance and you were with another person repairing a fence around a very large house.
The repairing of the fence reminds me of the preventing of anything coming into the house.
I considered the bag to be a trap for the birds, then I wondered about how the enemy will entice us with things we want to hear, instead of listening to the truth of the gospel, which can sometimes be difficult to digest..I then imagined the birds alarm when the opening of the bag was cinched tight behind them! I see how this same thing is happening to many Christianss now..Not good!
I recently found an eagle's wing feather, and noted just how hollow the stem of it is compared to other bird feathers..Just one feather seemed to have the ability to give my arm bouyancy as I waved it through the air..No wonder our Lord uses the eagle feather as an analogy for the weary to be lifted high!
You could not have said it more clearly Lisa, that is exactly what is happening. There are many things that are being preached that go against the Word of God, and I have seen it in many places. Never be afraid to speak the truth, and always trust in the promises of God for they are all 'YES' in Jesus. God is not a man that He should lie, and I have had wonderful comfort from His Word at very appropriate trials in my life - and still do.
Beautiful bird the eagle, and so wonderful that it can fly above the clouds, just as in the Lord's strength we can rise above anything that tries to hide the sun (Son) in our walk with the Lord.

As for your dream last night, the near empty church is clearly the Remnant of God, reserved in this generation. The fence is the Doctrine of God that defines the the Remnant boundaries and sets a clear separation from others. It is an honor that God used me as a symbol for you and me and others of the Remnant, that has been chosen to differentiate the true doctrine of God from the doctrines of this world and proclaim it to others, who will accept it. Finally, the one helping is God, himself, through his spirit Spirit. Cool dream!
Thank you Keith for your input, I have always felt that God has brought you as a spiritual brother to me. I do believe that I have been shown that denominational churches are lacking in those who hear the word of God and carry it out. I believe sometimes the Lord can use the scripture to guide me to a person even if they are in a denomination, as He wants all to be saved. Just like Daniel was removed to Babylon, yet he did not eat the rich food of the king, I believe we can be taken to spiritual Babylon and yet not eat the 'food' of the king (pastors who use man's doctrine to make void the word of God).
I agree with you about my dream and the fence, and I would ask you to pray for me as to whether I should be in a certain place praying (the Lord knows where I am talking about - I have not done this yet). Daniel was brought to pray for God's people who had done wickedness.
By the way, the more I think about it, The unknown servant, who is helping with the fence, is unnamed. This is very consistent with the Scriptures, when describing Gods Holy Spirit. It also reminds me of when Y'shua said that the Spirit will testify, not of himself, but of the Word of God,Y'shua.
Amen, Brenda! There are no coincidences with God, and yet it always amazes me when He gently reminds of the same point we need at a particular time by repeating it in verses we read, Christian writings, a sermon, song, or Godly friends. Praise God that He uses you, and that you yield to His will and use, as a chosen vessel to share His Word and encourage others.

He is so amazing and only He can be omnipresent, that is how He can change our ways to be like His ways, and our thoughts like His thoughts. So true, how God sends His unique message for each of us by different means and messengers. He has speaking the word "Courage" to me lately in many ways, which I find comforting, and pray that I will embody this word to better serve Him.

yes God does have a unique message for each of us, that is lovely message of 'courage' that He is speaking to you at this moment. There is a lovely definition of that word in dictionary.com :-'the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger, pain, etc., without fear; bravery. ... have the courage of one's convictions, to act in accordance with one's beliefs, especially in spite of criticism.'
At this moment in time the Lord is encouraging me through His words on 'healing', and I have only recently noticed that the left hand speaker of my computer, which is in front of me at the side of the screen, has the word 'trust' on it.
