Is tradition cancelling out truth?

A few nights ago I had a very vivid dream.  I was stood outside the door of an office in a church.  Inside the office was  a man who had been allotted as the pastor of the church.  I had some money in my hand that I knew I had to give him, but he would not open the door to receive it.  It was as if in the dream I could see through the door and the man was sat at his desk, knowing that I was there with the money, but had no intention of getting up to come and collect it.
When I awoke the dream spoke spiritually to me almost immediately.  The spiritual meaning of money, as in silver and gold, is 'wisdom and knowledge (or understanding)', and if we have been given any spiritual wisdom or knowledge to share for the good of the church then it must be shared.  In my dream my gift of 'wisdom and knowledge' was not being allowed to be shared, as the person in charge was not accepting it.   This is not scriptural.
1 Corinthians ch. 12 vs. 7-11 states:-
'Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,  to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.'

This was the second vivid dream that I have had over the last few weeks speaking of gifts given by God .  The first one was as follows:-
I was stood in front of a man, holding in my hand a sheet of paper on which was written a song that I felt God had brought me to write some time back.  I suddenly put the sheet of paper down the front of the man's tee shirt up against his chest.  After a while I reached into his tee shirt to take it back, but it was not there.
I awoke knowing the meaning of that dream also.  I believe I was being shown that whatever God gives us to share is not ours to keep.  The song referred to not letting our hearts be hardened regarding learning the Father's ways, and that is why I believe it was put against the man's heart.

Both of these dreams have spoken to me about the necessity of, and reason for sharing, the gifts that have been given to each of us, as stated in the following two verses in the New Testament, and many more.

Ephesians ch. 4 v.12:-
'to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up'

1 Peter ch.4 v.10:-

"Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others..."

Revelation ch. 22 vs. 18-19 states:-

I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book.

If things are added to or taken away from scripture, then it adds to or takes away from the word of God.  Today there are many 'denominations' within the church, and within the doctrines of some of them words have been added and scripture has been taken away.
If we jiggle some of the letters of the word 'denominations' around it can spell 'demonisation', and that is what is happening sometimes.  The devil is a liar and a thief, and can present himself as an 'angel of light' by bringing a lying spirit within the church through man made doctrines which add or take away from the truth.  A liar speaks something that is not true  and a thief takes something away,  and this is what the lying spirit is trying to do within the church.

I have this picture of my darling little cat in the garden.  I know and love my cat and recognize her no matter what might be partially hiding her.  So too do I know and love my Lord and recognize His Word of truth no matter what the spiritual enemy might be trying to add or take away from it through the doctrines of man.

Ephesians ch. 6 v. 12 says:-

'For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms,'

So this why we must always search the scriptures to see if what is spoken in church gatherings is true, and come together according to the instructions contained within 1 Corinthians ch. 12 vs. 7-11

It is essential that we keep our eyes on the truth, read the scriptures for ourselves, and seek the Lord. It is not something to be taken lightly. It's so important. Thank you for sharing this, Brenda. It's good to see you back!

Hi Sandi,
lovely to be back and lovely to hear from you. I have been doing a lot of gardening in our new home and am enjoying living here in such a beautiful place.

Dear Brenda,
I'm so glad you're blogging again -- this is indeed one of the gifts God has given you to share. I agree with your interpretation of the dreams. How sad it is when church leadership does not freely receive gifts offered by those in the congregation, depriving not only themselves and the church body of a blessing, but also the one whose offering was rejected. We were once in a church like that and now are blessed to be part of a church family that is loving and open to sharing by all of their gifts, talents and wisdom.
May God bless you and your lovely ministry,
Laurie

Hi Laurie, it is lovely to be back blogging. Thank you for your kind comment. I too am in a lovely church gathering, and feel very welcome there as part of the spiritual family.
I have been very busy doing gardening as we have moved into a new build and the garden was a blank canvas. I have to do a lot of catching up reading lots of blogs, including yours. I should be home all day tomorrow and intend to spend quite a bit of time reading blog posts, which I love doing.
God bless you too Laurie, and your lovely ministry - which I know He does.

Dear Brenda,
Having grown up as a Roman Catholic, I am fully aware on how tradition can mist over the Word of God - to such an extent that when a survey was conducted across Spain some years ago, the vast majority of indigenous Catholics did not know the Gospel, even if they attend church on a regular basis. It is a very sad situation, yet the Holy See still insist that the Bible is not enough to save a person without participation of Sacred Tradition.
An excellent post. God bless.

Brenda said...

you are absolutely right. I don't know if this is wrong but I heard some years ago that the pope has written on his belt 'substitute for God'. I would call that blasphemy. Jesus is the only mediator, and I have always believed, and it has proved itself true in my life, the Bible is the living Word of God.
Attending 'church' on a regular basis is not enough to make us 'children of God' as God does not live in a house made with hands. Believers in Christ Jesus are children of God (Gods' church on earth) who become born of God's Spirit through being taught by that living Word, first the 'milk' then the 'strong meat'. We have all been given various 'gifts' to build up one another and I love the fact that on the blogs we have the freedom to do this.
God bless you and Alex, lovely to hear from you.

Hi Brenda,
If you not supposed to add or take away from the Scriptures, then why have you added a god to the Scriptures which is not there ?
A god called Yahweh ?

Brenda said...

Hi Paul,
He is there but sadly you do not know Him or want to know Him. He is the One Who sent His Son into the world to reconcile us back to Himself.

Paul G said...

So then you admit that you have been adding on another god to the true God Jesus Christ (1 John 5:20) ?
A god called Yahweh ?

Tell me, which god is there ?
Do you mean the one you have added into the Scriptures next to the Lord Jesus Christ ?
Or, do you mean the other god Yahweh that you have added on, and he sent his son into the world to reconcile us, and to which one ? is it to Yahweh, or is it to Jesus ? or is it to both of them ?

Brenda said...

'For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.'
1 Timothy ch. 2 vs. 5,6.

Do not add or take away from the scriptures Paul.

Paul G said...

Yes Brenda, and do NOT ADD in another god.
There is ONE God, and that God IS the mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.

If it were NOT so, then there would be TWO gods, Yahweh and the Lord Jesus Christ.
And if Yahweh would be God, then the Lord Jesus Christ would be an impostor.

But as it is, I call Yahweh an impostor, and the Lord Jesus Christ is the true God and eternal life (1 John 5:20).

Brenda said...

Scripture will always reveal the truth Paul

'Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves His child as well. This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out His commands. In fact, this is love for God: to keep His commands. And His commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.' 1 John ch. 5 vs.1-5

I am able to overcome the world because I believe that Jesus is the Son of God. Hallelujah!

Paul G said...

Is that so ?
Then why don’t you believe in the truth Brenda ?
Remember, the TRUTH is the Lord Jesus Christ and NOT your god Yahweh, providing you would believe the Scriptures (John 14:9) “I am the TRUTH”.

You are always quoting metaphoric Scripture passages where God supposed to have a Son, without actually thinking that trough.
Tell me Brenda, in your right mind, does God really have a Son ?
Does God really have a Father ?
Does God really have a Holy Spirit ?
Does God really have a mother, 'the Holy Mother of God' ?

Well Brenda, this is serious and I’m not kidding, the whole catholic church, over one billion members and nearly every other denomination believes that kind of religious tryp (acronym), or garbage.

But the Muslims, they will not believe that garbage, only the so called Christians do, and that is a shame to you and to all Christianity.
Yes, I said the ‘so called Christians’, because NO disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ believes such blatant nonsense.

In the day of judgement all Muslims will condemn the ‘so called Christians’ before my God the Lord Jesus Christ, and I will condemn BOTH, the Muslims and the so called Christians alike before my God, the ONLY God, the Lord Jesus Christ for NOT believing in Him.

And NO ! there will be no excuses, for I have made it clear to you and to everyone for NOT believing in the Lord Jesus Christ.
And please don’t say that you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ when you ACKNOWLEDGE the Lord, for acknowledge is NOT believing.

Well Brenda, the only hope you have, and everyone who reads this comment, is to turn away from your false gods called Jehovah or Yahweh or Allah or any other god there is and then believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and in NO OTHER !
For my God is a jealous God visiting your sins to the third and fourth generation.

God is Spirit Paul and Jesus was born of God's Spirit, being the first born of God's Spirit. He is now seated at the right hand of the Father, making intercession for us. He is the One mediator between man and God.

'After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.'
Mark ch. 16 v.19.

Brenda, what does that mean to you, “Jesus was born of God's Spirit, being the first born of God's Spirit.”
Does that mean that Jesus was the first person who was born of God’s Spirit, the first one to be born again of God’s Spirit ? or what ?

What does that mean to you, “He is now seated at the right hand of the Father, making intercession for us.”
Do you mean that Jesus is actually seated at the right hand of a god called Yahweh, making intercession for us. ?

What do you mean by, “He is the One mediator between man and God.”
Do you mean that Jesus is the middleman between man and a god called Yahweh ?

And what does that mean to you, “He was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.”
Does that mean that someone has taken Jesus up to heaven and He literally sat down at the right hand of his dear Father Yahweh ?

And don’t tell me what the Scripture says, I’m old enough to read the Scripture myself.
When the word of God comes to you, telling you to repent of your false god, then you ought to repent !
Yes repent Brenda.
Do not try to find a way out by quoting metaphors and then say that you believe the Scriptures.

Brenda said...

If you do not understand the Word that is written Paul, then you are probably not born again of God's Spirit and you are trying to use the carnal mind to understand them instead of the mind of Christ.

Paul G said...

Paul G said...

Well Brenda, if you think that you have the mind of Christ, then surely you could have given me an answer to those questions above.
I have asked you those question numerous times, and every time you are telling me that I trying to use the carnal mind to understand those questions.
For that reason I am asking you, you who claim to have the mind of Christ to answer my questions.

Look Brenda, that is going to be uncomfortable and you don’t have to answer those questions.
But you will never know and understand them, and the charges still stand.
Do never think that those charges will go away by ignoring me.
Soon or later you have to face them, preferably sooner :-)

As for me, there is no pleasure to confront this evil unbelieving world of their unbelief in the Lord Jesus Christ.
But then again, that is the great commission the Lord Jesus Christ has equipped me to do.

OK. what does that mean to you, “Jesus was born of God's Spirit, being the first born of God's Spirit.”
Does that mean that Jesus was the first person who was born of God’s Spirit, the first one to be born again of God’s Spirit ? or what ?

Yes, I know that is a difficult question.
Perhaps I should ask you a simple question which all Christians must believe and understand.

Is the Lord Jesus Christ your Father ?
Reverence (John 10:30) and (John 14:9) etc.
That is NOT a trick question Brenda.

The whole of Christianity hinges on that question.
Look, if you do not believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is your Father who is in heaven, then your Christianity is false.
And useless, because you have not believed in the only one whom God has sent.

So then again, you don’t have to answer that, you can put your head in the sand and pretend that the Lord Jesus has never spoken to you about that.

Brenda said...

Yes Paul, Jesus was the first born of God's Spirit, the first of many brethren. Read the scriptures.

Brenda said...

Like I have said on your blog Paul, it is time for me to no longer carry on this conversation with you. You are so indoctrinated that you place your doctrine above the written Word contained within the Bible.

Keith said...

Unfortunately, Paul doesn't put God's Word first. He has his own interpretation and he doesn't want anything to get in the way of it.

As for the post, Yes. Traditions and the false teachings that arise out of them has been the subject of my ministry for a long time. They have been degrading the church since it's early inception. Satan uses tradition to take our eyes of the goal. It may seem petty to some, but taking your attention off of God, for even a small moment, could be enough to trip us up and lead us down the wrong path.

Look at Paul's doctrine. It's a variety of truth and so called "half-truths". Now, after all these years, he's is blind to the simple truths of God's Word.

Brenda said...

Hello stranger,
It is nice to see you back blogging. I hope you and yours are well. I agree with what you have said Keith. I have always seen God's Word as a shaft of light. If we move to the left or to the right of a shaft of light that we must walk in, we end up walking in darkness.

Paul G said...

Yes Brenda, I know what the Scriptures said, I can read it myself.

You insinuate that my doctrines ar false but you never say where.
Perhaps that’s the difference between me and you, I am telling you where your doctrines are false.

Paul G said...

Hi Keith, I’m glad that you’re back again, without you sounds pretty boring in the Christian neighbourhood.

They all, just like you are giving each other the same old compliments.
They sound just like the Jehovah Witnesses or the Yahweh Witnesses or the Muslims, and talking about their god.
They all are saying God, God and God again, and each one of them claims that their god is the true god.

But when I put my claim in, that my Father the Lord Jesus Christ is the ONLY true God, then they somehow spitting chips, so to speak.
And it gets worse my friend, they even say that I can’t read my Bible properly and that I don’t believe the Scriptures when I explain the Scriptures to them.

Well my friend, we both know that my Father the Lord Jesus Christ is the true God and eternal life (1 John 5:20).
Also my Father is the only great God and saviour there is (Titus 2:10-13), and no one else can save His children from their sins, no, NOT Jehovah or Yahweh or Allah, but only Jesus my Lord. :-)

Keith said...

Once again, Paul, Titus 2:10-13 and 1 John 5:20 does not your assertions. It’s time to read the Bible for what it actually says, not what you want it to say.

Paul G said...

Well, well my friend, you and Brenda make a good team for encouraging one another NOT to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.
I think that you and Brenda should be WITNESSES for my Father the Lord Jesus Christ.
At least that is what my Father the Lord Jesus Christ has commanded you to DO in (Acts 1:8) “Be MY witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the remotest part of the earth.”

And did you notice, He didn’t say to go and preach “GOD”, God and God again, NO ! He has told you to be WITNESSES for the Lord Jesus Christ.

You see, and about two thousand years later the Lord Jesus Christ my Father writes you another note, that you should be His Witnesses and NOT a Jehovah Witnesses.

OK. Keith, since you think that I don’t understand (Titus 2:10-13).
I have read what it says before and after, so let’s read together verse 10, “but showing all good
faith so that they will adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in every respect.”

ADORN the doctrine of GOD our SAVIOR ? in every respect.
Look my friend, perhaps we can ask blind Freddy again, he surely can see it.
Well, I wish that YOU and Brenda would adorn the doctrine of GOD our SAVIOR, and perhaps all those who read this comment.

Verse 13 “looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our GREAT God and Savior, Christ Jesus, ….”

The APPEARING of our GREAT God and Savior ?
Look Keith and Brenda, you both have been deceived by your false god Yahweh and you just don’t want to repent.
Well, Keith and Brenda, without repentance is NO salvation.

Brenda said...

We are told to preach Christ crucified, which we do. Don't you think that people want to know why He was crucified? The reason He was crucified was so that all of sinful mankind could be reconciled back to God by being born of God's Spirit and becoming children of God, therefore having eternal life.

Paul G said...

Yes Brenda, we ought to preach Christ and Him crucified, but what you said after, that is not true.

You see, we ought to preach Jesus Christ which is foremost in everything there is, and how you do that is up to you, as long you preach ONLY Jesus Christ and NOBODY else, that is most important !
This is also called the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Now, the gospel is NOT a strategy as most Christians think, always pertaining to salvation.
No, the gospel is simply lifting up the Lord Jesus Christ, remember, it is Jesus who is the savior, and He will draw all men to Himself.

As to “Him crucified”, that part is for us who are saved, born again.
So that we have a defence against the onslaught of the devil which is against us.
That part is NOT for everybody as you may think, Brenda.
If Jesus would have died for everybody, then everybody's sins would have been forgiven at the cross and nobody could be charged again for their sins.
And we both know that is not true.

And if you say, that a sinner needs to believe that Jesus died for their sins, that makes the cross a mockery.
Today you believe, you are saved, tomorrow you change your mind and don’t believe, you are lost, after tomorrow you believe again, you are saved etc. etc.
That to me sounds like a Yo Yo salvation.

Look Brenda, you also need to work on that doctrine, remember I have told you once that if you err on the doctrine of God, then you are most likely wrong on all other doctrines.

So again, I need to remind you, before you can understand anything of the Scriptures, you first need to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and only after, you WILL understand.
This is how my Father, the Lord Jesus Christ works, and there is no other way around.

Paul G said...

Brenda, do you remember when you first came to know the Lord Jesus Christ ?
Everything was ‘Jesus’ and Jesus and only Jesus, you rejoiced exceedingly, you were beside yourself for Jesus, singing praise songs to the Lord Jesus and you could hardly sleep at night, and you went out onto the street to testify about Jesus etc.
But as time went on, and the troubles of this world crouched in on you and slowly you departed from the Lord Jesus Christ who has purchased you with His blood, and without you noticing it, another lover sneaked into your life, Yahweh.

Lost in the wilderness of sin the Lord Jesus Christ was continually calling out to you, saying, ‘Brenda repent and turn back to Me, for I am God and there is no other’.

Brenda, the Lord is patient, kind and longsuffering wishing that none would perish, but all to be saved.

Brenda said...

Jesus is my Saviour Paul, and the only One Whom God has made my Lord. God is Spirit. Jesus was sent to earth to be the sacrificial Lamb, to enable mankind to be reconciled back to God. All mankind has to do to be reconciled back to God and have eternal life is repent and believe in that written word that will be spoken to them daily as they search for the truth. Once we are born again of God's Spirit we are able to learn God's ways.

Paul G said...

No, that is just not true Brenda.
God did not make Jesus you Lord. That is only a cliche of yours.
If Jesus would be your Lord, then He would also be your God, but as it is, Jesus is your little lord Fauntleroy and your Lord is Yahweh.

Brenda said...

No more to be said about this issue Paul, people only have to look into the Bible to see the truth for themselves. I will not respond to your comments anymore when you say the same kind of nonsense that is not scriptural.

Paul G said...

Yes Brenda, I wish you would look into the Bible and believe what is written.
John 20:28 Thomas said to Jesus, “My Lord and my God”.
It is written, “My Lord and my God” Brenda, and Jesus did NOT deny that.
And then they took hold of His feet and worshipped Him (Mat. 28:9).
And that is also written !
How long is it going to be till you will believe that Jesus is the ONLY LORD and GOD ?

Jephyr! said...

Hi Brenda, Thanks for commenting over my way. It's awesome to hear that you've been given dreams and their interpretation too. Recently I've come to many of the same understandings about our gifts—and using them in service to God and His church. I've searched and searched for a church in my area and have found so many that cling to false traditions and teaching. Some of it is misunderstanding and error — although.... Acts 20:28-29 "Keep watch over yourselves and over all the flock, of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God that he obtained with the blood of his own Son. 29 I know that after I have gone, savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock." So as you encouraged: we are to share our gifts with the body of Christ—but also be wary of the ravaging wolves that also make the body and churches their home. Jude 1 talks about them: 4 For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. 2 Peter 2 talks about their shame and condemnation: 1 "But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. 2 Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. 3 In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping." Sorry to go on—but you may have noticed I like to write and share my thoughts. God Bless you Brenda!

Brenda said...

Jephyr,
do not apologize for speaking the truth of the Word, I love that. As my dad always said when my siblings and I always used to argue and say 'Dad, dad, who is right?' My dad used to say 'Let's see what the Lord says.' and look into the scriptures. He always found something there to answer our question. The truth is found within that Word which is the same today, yesterday and forever.
Thank you for sharing those lovely scriptures Jephyr. I hope you and yours are well, and God bless you too - as I know He does.

Brenda said...

Just to add Jephyr, the thing I love about blogging is that we can share and build one another up just as it tells us to do in the scriptures. God says that He does not live in a house made with hands.' Where two or three gather together (that does not have to be physical, it can be on line just as Jesus is with us in that living Word through the Holy Spirit, not in the physical) there He is in the midst of us.

Paul G said...

OK. Brenda, let’s look what the Bible said, whether the Lord Jesus is the Lord God or not.
(John 20:28) Thomas called the Lord Jesus Christ “My Lord and my God”, and Jesus did NOT denied that.
If Jesus is NOT God, then, don’t you think that the Lord Jesus would have corrected Thomas ?
And when they took hold of the feet of Jesus and worshipped Jesus in (Mat. 28:9), don’t you think that Jesus would have rejected that worship ?

After all, Jesus Himself said, “Go SATAN ! For it is written, You shall worship the LORD your GOD, and serve Him only.” (Mat. 4:10).
Can you see, always “Lord and God”. Not two, but one, Jesus.

Well Brenda, that is what the Bible said !

Paul G said...

Please tell me, why would Isaiah call the Lord Jesus Christ Mighty God and Everlasting Father, if Jesus would NOT be our God and Father ?
Like Isaiah said that the Lord shall be called ‘Mighty GOD’ and ‘Everlasting FATHER’ (Isa. 9:6) ?
Well Brenda,, that is what my Bible says, “MIGHTY God and EVERLASTING FATHER” !
And why can’t you say, ‘You O Lord are our Father and our Redeemer’ (Isa. 63:16) ?

The only reason is why you don’t call the Lord Jesus Christ mighty GOD, our FATHER and our Redeemer is because you don’t believe that Jesus is your Redeemer.
You believe that a god by the name of Yahweh is your God and your Father.

Well Brenda, you should ask your pastor on sunday in church, whether that which I have said is true or not.
And if he doesn’t believe that either, then get him on the blog and talk to me.

Jephyr! said...

Hi again Brenda, What a Blessing to have a Christian dad who knew to seek after God first. It is true that all the Truth is found in His beautiful Word.

Thank you for your encouragement to share. I do agree that the internet—blogging and social media etc—allows us to fellowship (and serve Him and share His Truth) even when we are separated by oceans> :)

Thank you for your Blessing—God is indeed at work in my life in a very big way recently. God Bless you too!

How important it is to search the Scriptures and not depend on tradition. And I don't see formal pastors in the Scriptures.

Brenda said...

Hello David,
I agree with you. The body of Christ on earth is made up of many members, and there were no titles attached to believers originally - especially 'reverend' and 'right reverend'. Unfortunately man is being raised more than Jesus in many gatherings these days, humility is disappearing, and I believe that is why the gifts of the Spirit do not appear often. I have only seen, and personally experienced, these gifts in two church gatherings.

Tim said...

Brenda,

Hi. I didn't know how else to contact you and let you know that I actually wrote a book.

I put it on Amazon so you should be able to see it in Britain. I am not asking anyone to buy it but I am hoping that in addition to my blog that you've been to I can can add this book to my ministry. Any book sold though will of course help some charity or church.

It's called--Spiritual Gifts: Their Meanings and Structures. I think it is short and simple but also adds some depth to the study.

Take care and keep writing you poems and songs.

Brenda said...

Hi Tim,
I don't buy anything on line, but I am glad you have written regarding the spiritual gifts. I hope that you will share some of your views regarding the gifts of the Spirit on your blog one day.

I have a couple of little books that I have put together - I will probably share some of the things in them on my blog when I can get another post together. I am attending a nice community church at the moment and I find that even though the Holy Spirit is not operating like it should according to the scriptures, there is a freedom to share there.
I like both what is going on when I gather with the people at that church and also when I interact with other believers on the blogs.

Tim said...

I completely understand and respect that. I have done a few small things on my blogs about the gifts but not extensive at all and probably a little different from what I think today. I just checked and I have 1 on Christians Thoughts and 4 on Bible Lessons but they aren't that good :)

I am glad you found a congregation you can fellowship with in your new community.

If you know someone who wants something simple about the gifts let them know about the book.

I may not comment much on your sites but I am reading and as always I feel calm and collected when I read your words. Thank you.

Take care.

Brenda said...

Thank you Tim, will do. I love discussions and interaction on the blogs and hopefully will get back to blogging soon. Been really busy lately and putting some little booklets together in my workroom. You too take care Tim.

Wow, Brenda..This was such a powerful reminder for me to not give up on the spiritual gifts that God meant for me to share..We must not be discouraged especially when others do not want what we have to offer. I feel that I am in a church like that now. They do not regard women very highly, I'm afraid.

It is just like the enemy to try and make us feel that we are worthless, or that our gifts are not good enough sometimes..But greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world..Amen.
Blessings & Love~Lisa~

Brenda said...

Hi Lisa,
lovely to hear from you. Absolutely right what you have said about some church gatherings not regarding the gifts of female believers, and yet scripture says that in Christ there is neither male nor female:-

'There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus' Galatians ch. 3 v.28.

I have actually been told several times by the Lord (through the Rhema Word), that if I am not accepted in a place - to shake the dust off my feet. I have then been led to a different gathering.

Keep on searching the scriptures Lisa, to see if what is said is true.
God bless.

Brenda I'm always amazed at your ability to know the meaning of your dreams and how God may be speaking to you through them. I have been having various dreams recently and not sure what they could mean. I make guesses but not sure if I'm guessing right. If it's God's will He'll let me know. I remember His word through Joseph that the interpretation of dreams belong to God.(Genesis 40:8)

I have been noticing for some time now how the traditions of and commandments of men is being taught in the church in exchange for the truth of God's word rightly divided. I have also noticed various tactics to increase church members. I have to say mot churches (or more specifically the buildings that are called churches)today do not resemble the early church in any way.

I agree that the gifts God the Father has given each f us through His Holy Spirit we ought to use and share with others. I've also noticed that many persons tend to disregard the teachings of Christ on that and just rely on those with doctorates or seminary degrees or Bible college degrees of some kind to be found suitable to share the word of God.

There are so many things going on in the church that shouldn't be. We know the Lord will soon return to set things in order. In the mean time lets obey Him and encourage others to do the same. This was a great post Brenda, so timely, so true. May God continue to bless you and keep you. Glad you're back to blogging I need to set time to sit and read posts from the bloggers I love to read from. :-)

The man in your first dream reminded me of Diotrephes mentioned in John's 3rd Epistle. The attitude of Diotrphes seems to be in many so called "leaders" in the church buildings today. It is sad.

Sateigdra, every word you have written in your comment I agree with. It is lovely to be interacting with you again as I know that, like me, it is being revealed to you the difference between 'truth' and 'tradition'. I have only just come across your last comment on this post as many things are happening in my life at the moment and I have only just checked comments on this post.
Regarding God and our dreams, Job 33 vs. 14-16 state:-
'For God speaks in one way and in another, yet no one notices. In a dream, in a vision in the night, when deep sleep falls upon men as they slumber on their beds, He opens their ears at that time and terrifies them with warnings,…'
I shall look up John's 3rd Epistle and the attitude of Diotrohes, and we must not forget Sateigdra, THERE IS ONLY ONE WINNER, He is the One Who wants all to be saved.
God bless you
