Contaminated Water

Recently I had a dream. There was a fish tank with many gold fish in it, but the water appeared to be dirty. I felt I had to clean the water, so I removed the fish, put fresh water in the tank and put the fish back in it.  Then I saw another smaller tank further away, with just two goldfish in it, also with even dirtier water in it. One fish was alive, the other was dead. I felt to remove the dead fish, replace it with another live one, and once again refill the tank with clean water.

I believe I know what this dream was portraying to me. Ephesians ch. 5 vs. 26 and 27 reads, regarding the reason Jesus gave Himself up for the church:-
'to sanctify her, cleansing her by the washing with water through the Word and to present her to Himself as a glorious church, without stain or wrinkle or any such blemish, but holy and blameless...'

1 Corinthians ch. 15 v.27 tells us that:- ' For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive',  and I believe the first tank was representing a danger of us being in  'contaminated water' (as in the cleansing Water of the Word, which keeps us 'alive in Christ', being blemished by false doctrine being added to that Word.)

The second tank was at a distance, and I believe the live fish was representing Jesus, Who is alive forever, and the dead fish was representing a spiritually dead church that could result from false doctrine if we allow the Word of God to us to be contaminated by it.

1 Timothy ch.4 v. 1 says :-   'The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.'

Ephesians ch. 6 v.12 tells us:- 'For we are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.'
We are all One in the Lord as the 'church', the body of Christ on earth, and I believe that my 'cleaning' of the water in my dream was a warning that we must each play our part of building one another up in the true Word as stated in 1 Corinthians ch. 14 v. 26:-
'What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Let all things be done for the building up.'

Matthew ch. 28 v.19 and 20 tells the disciples to go making disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  However, it is obvious that He is not speaking to the disciples of that time alone, as He goes on to say that He will be with them until the end of the age. That Word is the same yesterday, today and forever, and is quite plainly speaking to the church today. All the gifts of the Spirit must freely operate within the church, as it is only the Holy Spirit that can lead us into all truth, and this is very much needed to bring a revival of the Holy Spirit in these end times.

Sadly, the church today can sometimes be 'washed' by 'contaminated water' (the Word of God that has been 'added to' or' taken from' through false doctrine), and the large fish tank in my dream, with many fish in dirty water portrays this.  The smaller tank with very dirty water and two fish in it (one alive and one dead) portrays to me Jesus, Who is forever alive, and the threat of what the very dirty water (the highly indoctrinated word) can do to the collective church of this day, the bride of Christ.

Jesus said 'My Words are Spirit and life' John ch. 6 v. 63, and without His Words and their teaching we have no life in the Spirit, we remain dead in our sins.

I believe that my dream was a warning to me, and to all who are in the Lord, to always check that the Word spoken to us, that we hear and act upon in our daily walk with the Lord, is in line with the scriptures, and is not contaminated by a false doctrine that does not conform with what is written there.

I end this post with this prayer:-

Father as each day I seek
Your blessed strength when I am weak
may all opposing voices heard
be silenced by Your precious Word
that all sufficient healing power
may reach me in my needy hour
Father may I see Your face
look down on me with tender grace

Those who fear Thee shall see me and rejoice, because I have hoped in Thy Word.
 Psalm 119 v.74

Hi Brenda, Lovely post! Yes—so much of error in the body of Christ comes from God's people not knowing His Word—and the Church's water becomes contaminated. The Bible offers many warnings about that: Warnings against "the traditions of men" and even "doctrines of demons" creeping into the body of Christ. Sadly, also too many want to pick and chose and reject parts of God's Word to suit themselves—and many are led away. Jesus warned of ravenous wolves entering the church and people deceiving and being deceived. For sure—we need to keep our eyes on God and His Beautiful Word. Thank you so much for sharing your dream, interpretation, and prayer! God Bless you!

Hi Jephyr
it is not coincidence that I was lying in bed this morning and felt an urge to get up and add the verse 1 Timothy ch. 4 v.1 to my post, and I see that you are mentioning that verse in your comment. Thank you for your added encouragement to all of us to always use that written Word as our plumb line in our walk with the Lord. We know that our battle is not with flesh and blood, but with the cunning, deceiving lying spiritual enemy.
God bless you Jephyr.

Hi Victor,
that is what I find the Word of God is - very thought provoking.
God bless you.

We must read the Word.

And we need the Holy Spirit. Especially in these days, but...it has always been this way, hasn't it?

Hi Brenda,
I'm glad to have the opportunity to read about your dream, which you said you had around the same time I had a dream that I also described in my blog post. The dreams were quite different but the interpretations are quite similar, and I believe God is giving both of us the same warning -- to trust in and follow only His Word, and not any adulterated version of it.
A few days after I wrote my blog post, my husband and I became embroiled in a situation about which it was quite clear that God had been warning us through the dream, and defending His Word turned out to be the best response, as it always is.
Thanks for sharing your dream and interpretation. God bless you,
Laurie

Hi Sandi,
yes it has always been this way according to the Word that is written, but there are many false doctrines being taught in churches, as the scriptures themselves say will happen in these latter times. Also the governments are allowing infant children to be taught in schools where it is alright to be any sex they like, and no Biblical teaching is taught in many schools.
At one time it was even said here that crosses were not allowed to be worn by people who were on the television. Many children do not even know Who Jesus is.There is a great danger of the next generation not being allowed to be talking about Jesus or the Bible.
I believe absolutely that my dream was given to me to share on my blog, and that it lines up with the scriptures. We all have to do what we believe God is calling us to do, and i often have dreams in which I believe there are warnings.

Hi Laurie,
I came over to read your blog yesterday and could see several things in your dream that were lining up with my dream too. I am glad that you share your dreams on your blog, as I believe absolutely that we have to share these dreams. It is so important in these times that we check that what is spoken to us in order for us to learn God's ways is scriptural. I had a recent discussion in the church gathering I go to about something regarding a scripture, and presented scripture to confirm what I believed. The person I was speaking to, who is a nice friendly person, disagreed even though scripture confirmed it. I just said 'We shall agree to disagree.' I do not argue, and God's Word can not go our and return to Him void eh? He loves us and wants all to be saved, and that Word is what He uses to do this.
God bless you Lauie

Sorry Laurie,
should have said could see several things in your 'post' not your 'dream'. This just confirms to me why we should always check what is said to us, and reminds me of God accompanying His Word with signs. The Bereans always searched the scriptures to see if what was said was true, and this is just what we all should do.

Sandi said...

Brenda, you are so right. Things are happening in our culture that I never would have thought possible. It is shocking.

Brenda said...

I believe Sandi that is why we have to pray for the gifts of the Holy Spirit to come into the church, so that we may have full access to the whole truth, and be able to build one another up through those gifts. May the Lord bless us with those gifts and may the quenching of the Holy Spirit by the spiritual enemy be put down, We ask this Father in Jesus' precious name Amen.

Hello, thank you for visiting.

Amen, Brenda! Amen!

Many Christians are guilty of the sin of Nehushtan, that is raising the things of this world higher than God, himself. Thanks for being faithful to the one and only God, through his Son, Y'shua. Shalom and God Bless.

John 8:31: "Jesus therefore said to the Jews who believed him, If ye abide in my word, ye are truly my disciples"; His word, uncontaminated by human thinking!

Brenda said...

Hi Keith,
how lovely to hear from you, and a big 'Amen' and 'Yes' I say to what you have written here. I have missed your interaction on the blogs. It would be lovely if you put up a post concerning Nehushtan. I really want to dig deeper into all scripture and I believe discussions, especially with a brother who understands the original languages the scriptures are written in. I know you are very busy but it is so important to spread the truth.
God bless you and yours.

Hi David,
the carnal mind is truly the contaminated area where the spiritual enemy has access to. This is why we must always search the scriptures to see if what is said is true, and also act upon the Word spoken to us through the Holy Spirit Who leads us into all truth, ad not just be hearers of it. Sometimes it is hard to resist the temptation to sin, but the more we resist - the stronger we become. What is 'good' and 'evil' in God's eyes can be very different to what our carnal mind will tell us is 'good' and 'evil'.
God bless.

Hi Brenda,
It is true that many outwardly pleasant people do not want to be convicted by the truth of God's Word. But, as the Holy Spirit leads us, we are to speak the truth in love, and I believe we will be rewarded for that, even if we don't seem to be reaching the person to whom we are witnessing.
God bless,
Laurie

Brenda said...

Hi Laurie,
Yes that is right, but we never know what is fully inside a person, as a man thinks so he is. The main thing is that God's Word can not go out and return to Him void, it is that Word itself that has the power to change everyone, and bring into existence that which does not exist. One of the main things regarding the love that is spoken of in the scriptures to me is that we must not keep a record of wrongs. This has truly helped me in my walk with the Lord , and made me realise that we do not war against flesh and blood - the battle is spiritual.
God bless you and yours Laurie.

Hi Brenda, for your reading pleasure, here is the link you requested.

The Sin Of Nehushtan

I hope to be finished with my videos soon. I’ll text you when I’m done and you can critique them. 😇

Brenda said...

Hi Keith, how daft am I not to remember that you put a post up about Nehushtan. I Just read it again and what comes to mind is Jesus' words. Why do you call me good, only God is good.

Brenda said...

Just to add Kieth,
the sin is in the flesh, and that is why it was the fleshly body of Christ that had to be crucified. He Who had no sin was made to be sin.
God bless.

Hi Azka, just visited your blog, and love the way you give a very detailed information on the reason we need travel insurance. I am reminded through it of the importance of our travel insurance on our spiritual journey. Without the assurance of the insurance contained within the Word of God we would be on a very dangerous journey. God bless you.

Keith, are you still on YouTube. I was just going through my posts to find out how to get on your site, but I can't find it.

You are very welcome Victor,
I have been very busy lately and I can never read many blogs daily, but yours that I read yesterday gave me the relaxing and laughter that I needed.
God bless you with a happy and fruitful life.

Laurie Collett said...

Amen, Brenda! His Word will never return to Him void. As you said, we must have a forgiving heart rather than keeping score for wrongs we have suffered. Bitterness will only hurt us, not the ones we feel have wronged us. Praise God that He does not keep track of our wrongs, but loves us unconditionally.
God bless you,
Laurie

Brenda said...

Amen Laurie, God's unconditional love is try amazing. God bless you too Laurie.

Just went through all the comments here, what a blessing to read them, thankful that there are still the “ 700 who have not bowed the knee to Baal” ...because I often get overwhelmed and discouraged by all the crazy things going on, not only in the world, but in the church as well...but there are oasis in the desert where one can come to quench your thirst with the pure water of a His word. You have a gift from the Lord in your poetry and I’m thankful that you are faithful to share that gift. ❤️

Oh, and forgot to also thank you for your comments on my blog, I have been getting especially burdened for Mormons lately, and then He brings me to a whole bunch of them. I don’t think Idid much in sharing the truth with them but hope that the few seeds the Lord shared through me can result in a bountiful harvest of true and good fruit.

Brenda said...

Hi Susan,
as I always say, nothing is coincidence and you was meant to share what you was given to the Mormon people. I think we can all be led down the wrong path, as the spiritual enemy is very cunning. However, God wants all to be saved and He has an amazing way of doing it. That word is the same yesterday, today and forever and has the power to bring into existence that which does not exist.

Susan said...

Amen, Brenda, God is all powerful, yet abounding in mercy. In this world power and mercy are at the opposite ends of the spiritual spectrum. Those who are in power usually are not merciful unless it gets them more more or other self gratification. But in God the two work together to save to the uttermost those whom He will save. ❤️

What I love Susan, is that there is only ONE WINNER, and we know Who that is don't we. I think of the battle like a chess game, the Lord being the Master chess player, and the body of Christ on Earth being like a jigsaw puzzle, with all the parts of the body coming together to form the whole picture as we all do what we have been called to do.
God bless you Susan.
