Born to bring life

This post contains my celebrating Jesus Christ's birth through some poems I wrote long ago.

BORN TO BRING LIFE

Come all who are heavy laden
come now and behold your King
come all who are sad and lonely
it's time to rejoice and sing

Come all who are weak and weary
lift up your heads and see
come all who are bound in fetters
this Saviour can set you free

This Jesus Who once was rejected
must now be received by all
for the Father has granted eternal life
to those who will answer His call

He comes to give life in abundance
a bearer of burdens is He
He's been born in a world of rejection and strife
He's been born to bring pardon - born to bring life

YOU WASN'T BORN IN A MANSION

You wasn't born in a mansion
You didn't come as a king
You left Your throne in the Heavens my Lord
Jesus..... You gave up everything
born in a manger, in a cradle of straw
for me Lord You made Yourself poor

You didn't walk with the wealthy
You sought neither fortune nor fame
You ate and drank with the sinners my Lord
spent time with the blind and the lame
riches and honour were what You deserved
but Jesus... You came and You served

You didn't die in comfort
there on that hill far away
broken and bleeding, rejected and in pain
You said 'Father, forgive them I pray'
slain for a world filled with hatred and strife
for me Lord You gave Your own life

I thank You Lord Jesus for being born into this sinful world in order to pay the price for all to be reconciled back to the Father and have access to eternal life.

Merry Christmas, Brenda!

Reading your post I find myself wondering who will read it in the days and years to come, even after we are gone. Words like this will ring out loudly one day. This will become a source of hope, beyond even the hope of today.

Blessings,
Sandi

Hi Sandi,
and a very merry Christmas to you too. I believe it could be very close to the Lord coming back, and I hope and pray that what we have all been given to share on our blogs will reach out to those who have not yet come to know our beautiful Saviour.
God bless you Sandi.

Hi Jephyr, my brother in the Lord,
I think it is so important that we all share what we have been given to share, we are in times when the spiritual enemy is trying to take our Saviour out of the picture. However, there is only One winner - He has already won the battle. You too have a lovely Christmas time Jephyr with those close to you.
God bless.

Hi Laurie,
Indeed - praise the Lord for all He has given each one of us to share, all glory to Him. It is so important to do this for we do not know how many of those who do not know Jesus might visit our blogs. God bless you and yours Laurie with a blessed Christmas.

Great Poems, Brenda! The Lord has definitely blesses you!

Brenda said...

Hi Keith,
I know that you know that the Lord blesses all of us with His unconditional love. I love the fact that you have been given the ability to interpret the scriptures from the original languages.

Brenda said...

By the way Keith, the second one is actually part of a song that the Lord gave me when I was led out into the streets with my friend, playing my guitar. I can not believe how quickly time goes. It is definitely like a puff of smoke. That is why it is so important to spread the gospel.

Yes, time definitely flies, especially when there's so much to do. :-) LOL Shalom, my sister, and may God continual give you and your family that wonderful Shabbat Shalom and Assurance, in the Messiah, Y'shua. Amen!

I have always loved the Hebrew language, probably because my grandparents on my mother's side were Jewish. God bless you and your family too my brother in the Lord

Amen, Brenda! I believe one of the greatest joys we will have in Heaven is to meet for the first time those we never knew read our blog and were encouraged or led closer to the Lord because of it. God bless you.

Hi Laurie,
I have to say that when I had my near death experience the joy I had was indescribable. It matched nothing else. God bless.

It is blessed to think of the way that the Lord Jesus came!

When Jesus entered His own universe
Nature acknowledged Him. His birth-star came;
The silenced winds and waves were not perverse,
Heeding the Firstborn of creation’s claim.

But men refused Him. They would give no room
To Jesus. In their hatred He was led
To judgement and to death. But though His tomb
Was sealed He rose as Firstborn from the dead.

Seeing His purposes let praise be sung
To God who from eternity designed
That Christ should be the Firstborn One among
The many brethren suited to His mind.

Hi Laurie,
I have seen others on YouTube who have had the same experience, with the same words spoken to them. It is a truly beautiful place. God bless.

Your poems seem like song lyrics!

I love you and am thinking about you, my friend.

Hi Lisa, lovely to hear from you, time goes by so quickly. We are OK here in Northern Ireland and yes the Lord is keeping me fit enough to do all I have to do. The second poem is actually a song that I wrote some years back. We shall keep looking up, love you too. God bless you with all He has for us.

Hi Brenda,
It is amazing to think that all the beauty of God's creation that we can still experience here, and Christian love that is edifying and satisfying even though still flawed by our sin nature, is but a weak foreshadowing of the joy we will experience in Heaven.
God bless you,
Laurie

Brenda said...

Hi Laurie,
it is so important that we share our experiences in the Lord to build one another up, for we overcome the enemy by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. The lovely thing is, as we grow in Him, is that He understands we are flesh and wants all to be saved. May we continue to overcome our sinful nature through our lovely Saviour's teaching.
God bless you Laurie.

Laurie Collett said...

Hi Brenda,
Yes, praise the Lord that He knows our frame, for He created us from the dust of the earth, and that He loves us despite our carnal nature. Praise Him for showing us through His Word how to be molded into His image.
God bless,
Laurie

Sandi said...

Brenda,

Remember when you shared an audio recording of your testimony on here? The thought just occurred to me, you should put recordings of yourself talking on here more. It was really moving to hear you speak. I don't know if that's me or a Word. But I felt like I should mention it.

I saw your comment earlier about a church you may be attending. I hope you will write about it if you do go.

Blessings,
Sandi

Hi Laurie,
all praise goes to the Lord. He is the only source of my existence, whether it be physical or Spiritual. I can not imagine life without Him.
God bless Laurie.

Brenda said...

Hi Sandi,
thank you for your kind comment. However, I would not know how to do what you suggested, it was an elder of a church in West Wales who enabled me to put my testimony on my blog. I also feel very happy interacting on the blog through the written word as it gives a person time to think about what they want to say regarding a subject. I am still praying about what the Lord is saying to me regarding a church gathering, as I don't feel I have the whole picture yet.
God bless you Sandi, and please pray that I have clarity concerning this.

Dear Brenda - could I use your comment section to make a request to you and any who read? Please pray for my son who appears to have become involved in a "church" which has unsound doctrines and some features of a cult?

Grace be with you.

Brenda said...

Of course you can David.
Father I, and all who agree, ask in Jesus' name for You to intervene where David's son is being drawn away from the truth of Your Word with any false doctrine. May he always search the scriptures to see if what is spoken is in line with Your Word. Amen.

Thank you, Brenda.
