TRUST

I would just like to share some thoughts I have had, and poems that  the Lord has brought me to write, enlightened by scripture, during the trials I have gone through since I have been born of His Holy Spirit. I am still going through trials but I know that they have strengthened me,  I hope they will encourage those who are also in the Lord, who may be going through hard trials at this moment, to put their trust wholly in the Lord.

The Lord won't let you stumble

The Lord won't let you stumble
as He brings you through the fire
He'll keep your feet on the stepping stones
and guide you across the mire
Just keep your eyes looking forward
as you walk the narrow track
your problems will only engulf you
if you try to take them back
Remember the Lord has your burdens
He holds your life in His hands
If you trust Him you'll see the Father
and you'll enter the Promised Land

You will keep in perfect peace he whose mind is stayed upon You because he trusts in You.
Isaiah ch. 26 v.3

To fly without wings

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
don't lean on your own understanding
for to fly without wings requires faith on your part
and don't worry about where you're landing
For the One Who sustains you is able to soar
and your future He holds in His hand
as you fly over mountains and deserts galore
to a beautiful fertile land

Shining Knight

You seek him here - you seek him there
you seek your hero everywhere
Where is this knight in gleaming white
to take you far from sorry plight
to take away your worldly fear
and fill your heart with love and cheer
What need of I to write this rhyme
when you know He's been there all the time
This Saviour from our bondage frees us
so call upon the name of Jesus

The next poem is one that came into my mind for a beloved Christian friend who was going through very hard trials. I hope this may speak to someone who may also be going through hard trials, to say that there is One Who is able to bring us through all the trials that we go through.

I KNOW A MAN WHO CAN

I’ve only been able to hope for you
as I’ve watched you in your sorrow
when you’ve felt there were only midnight skies
with no new dawn tomorrow

I’ve only been able to cry for you
when your hurt has been so great
when your God has told you ‘Not just yet’
and you’ve known you’ve had to wait

I’ve only been able to pray for you
to believe in God’s mercy and grace
when you’ve cried in utter disbelief
at the trials you’ve had to face

But ‘though I may not be able to grant your desire
and to bring about God’s great plan
I have to say with all joy in my heart
I KNOW A MAN WHO CAN

'And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father), full of grace and truth.
John ch. 1 v.14 .

I have found that the Lord speaks to me in many ways, accompanying His Word with signs, and He has encouraged me recently through a wonderful Irish singer called Tommy Fleming. I came across him on You-tube singing two beautiful songs. One is called  'Hard times' and the other is called  'Don't give up 'til it's over', and I would encourage all,  through what may be hard times in our walk with the Lord, to not give up 'til it's over , and we have overcome the spiritual enemy who wants to rob us of what God has for us in Jesus.

Dear Brenda,
When my beloved wife develops a severe toothache during the lockdown and there is no dental surgery in town, yes, such a time can be very testing. We are reminded by Paul that whoever wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution (2 Timothy 3:12).
Generally, we think of "persecution" as meaning harassment from another person or from a group of people hostile to the faith. But we are aware that Satan is behind everything which would hamper our walk with God, and this would include physical pain, such as my wife is presently suffering.
Therefore you are absolutely right. We need to keep trusting in God and particularly to cast our burdens on Jesus, for he cares for us.
An excellent post to remind us. God bless.

Hi Frank,
I totally agree with everything you have said, our fight is not with flesh and blood - it is spiritual warfare. I have constantly prayed, and still do, for the gifts of the Spirit to come into the 'church', which is the body of Christ on earth. The reason I am doing this is because I have experienced both miracles and healing in my walk with the Lord, and we are instructed in the scriptures to pray without ceasing. I feel that tradition can cancel out truth within the church through the spiritual enemy's cunning distractions and lies. Satan is a lair and a thief, and I pray that Alex will recover from what Satan has inflicted her with through God's loving gift of healing or a miracle. Amen and thank You Father in Jesus's name.
God bless you and Alex Frank.

Amen!

Thanks for sharing this, Brenda.

I just saw your comment on my post. What is the Ukraine article you mentioned? I'd like to read it. 😊

Hi Sandi,
it is not actually from a Ukraine blog. I don't know if you visit Laurie's blog http://savedbygracebiblestudy.blogspot.com/ but it is regarding her grandmother. It was lovely.

Inspiring poems and all apply not only through this pandemic but in any trial that comes anybody's way, including mine. Praying all is well with you and that you remain strong in the Lord's mighty power. He is our peace. He is our everything. And I'm so grateful that He had overcome the world! God bless and strengthen you.

Hi Brenda,
Such beautiful poems speaking God's truth! "To fly without wings" especially spoke to me. It reminds me of our dance ministry involving physically demanding overhead lifts, which I love because I feel like I'm flying, by God's grace to me and my husband who lifts me. Isa. 40:31 is one of our dance ministry verses, and I have Prov. 2:5-6 written on plaster tablets above my desk.
God bless you,
Laurie

Hi RCUBE,
for some reason I have been having a problem with my side bar of blogs that I read, many have disappeared including yours. I have noticed a message coming up saying 'Try new blogger' so it could be due to that. I have managed to get yours back on my side bar, and so I will come over to visit shortly. I am not brilliant on technology :-)
Thank you for visiting, and your kind comment. I am well in the Lord, and have been overcoming the spiritual enemy through the guiding and leading into all truth of the Holy Spirit. Without our beautiful Lord Jesus, the Word, and our Father God I would not have been able to come through the hard trials that I have come through. The more we trust in that Word, the more we grown in the Lord. God bless you with all God has for us in Jesus.

Hi Laurie,
thank you for your kind comment. I love what you have said in it regarding scripture that the Lord has given you, and the signs in your life to accompany what He is speaking to you. That is exactly what happens in my walk in the Lord, and there is nothing I could do without Him. All the poems and writing have only come through experiences in my life in the body of Christ (the church), and He has shown me that acting on the Word spoken to me will bring whatever He says about. He is the TRUTH, and we have been given the mind of Christ in which we will find all truth.
God bless you and yours Laurie.

Hi Brenda, I love your poems and each scripture you chose to go with them. Your last poem really spoke to me because you offered not only prayer but words of comfort — and that is such a wonderful gift we can give those who are in trials along WITH our prayers for them. Thanks so much as always for sharing your talent with words. God Bless you!!

Hi Karen,
I have always loved birds. We are very close to fields and farms here and there are all sorts of birds come into the back garden. There is one collared dove that has become so used to me feeding her with suet balls that I go out and break one up on the lawn and she comes within about 12 to 15 inches away from my feet to eat it. She also comes to the patio doors in the kitchen and looks through the glass to let me know she is there :-). Thank you for your lovely comment and your info about Robin Marks songs on YouTube, I will definitely look it up.

Hi Louise,
thank you for visiting. I loved your post that I read regarding your mother, and the beautiful pics you shared. We all have different things to share in our blogs and it so lovely to interact with one another - I love it.

Hi Jephyr,
whatever we all have to share with one another are gifts from God. I claim no glory for the poems I write, they only started dropping into my head after I was born again of the Holy Spirit, and I am glad that you enjoyed reading them. I love what you write and the music you share, and it shows that there is no time or distance to God and our Lord Jesus.
God bless you Jephyr.

Your poetry flows beautifully and I sit here shaking my head affirming every line. I hate trials, but they display God's beauty in such magnificent ways as well as shape us into His image. God's bountiful blessings to you today, Brenda. I will have to look up the Irish singer for sure!

Hi Mary,
thank you for your very kind comment, all glory to our lovely Father God and His Son Jesus our Lord. I have just been over to your blog to share about another Irish singer called Owen Mac who sings a beautiful song called 'If Jesus comes tomorrow.' which can be accessed on YouTube. God bless you Mary, it is always lovely to interact with one another.

Hi Victor,
I have to say that I never grit my teeth in the Lord :-), to trust in Him brings peace and joy, and trials strengthen us.
God bless you and yours.
