Lord take us to the prisoners

My greatest desire since I have been born again of God's Holy Spirit is to spread the gospel to as many people as I can for the rest of my life. Although my friend and I spent many years evangelising in the streets with the leaflets and songs that the Lord had given us to share, and I love blogging, the reaching out to others who do not know the Lord still remains within my heart. I still have many leaflets, and laminated poems that speak of Jesus that I feel to give to people, but am not sure where this could be done.  When my friend and I were first brought together we always thought that we would have a cafe called 'The Lighthouse' where we would give these leaflets and poems out. This did not happen, and I ended up having a blog called 'Lighthouse vision ', yet I still feel that something is still in the future where the remainder of what has been given me to share amongst those who do not know Jesus will be shared. Please pray for me regarding this.
My friend and I also became prison visitors, something which we enjoyed doing very much, and just as we prayed for those physical prisoners I pray for those who are imprisoned in the spirit, that they would be set free from the darkness of this world and come to the light of our beautiful Lord.

A PRAYER FOR THE PRISONERS

Lord have mercy on them all
for they know not what they do
the perils of this world surrounding them
are forbidding their vision of You

Turn their shadowy darkness to reflections of light
let them look on Your wonderful face
for there's no other Saviour can fight their fight
only Jesus - God's manifest grace

So have mercy great Master - reach down from Your throne
cause Your hand to unlock prison doors
for the captives are weary from fighting alone
they don't know that the battle is Yours

They don't know there's a warrior - a great mighty Lord
the One of Whom boldly we sing
they don't know this redeemer - with two edged sword
has the power to change everything

For they're locked in their prison of darkness and woe
powerless - unable to see
that the jailer is satan - a most cunning foe
who once had a power over me

So now send us dear Father with mercy and grace
out to rescue the injured and dying
close our eyes to what's written on worldly face
let our ears hear imprisoned souls crying

LORD TAKE US TO THE PRISONERS

Lord take us to the prisoners
Lord lead us to the ones that are bound
Lord take us to the weary
give rest to their souls - cause the lost to be found

Lord take us to the injured
Lord lead us to the ones that are lame
Lord take us to the helpless
give sight to the blind by the power in Your name

Lord take us to the thirsty
Lord lead us to the ones that are dry
Lord take us to the lost ones
and open our ears to their pitiful cry

I sing this song to my beautiful Saviour Jesus

You are my God, You are my King
You are my Prince of Peace - You are my everything
You have the power and the authority
to bring down each stronghold and principality

and I worship You - and I worship You
I worship You my Lord

You are the chosen One of the Great I AM
You are the Holy One - You are the risen Lamb
You are the Prince of Peace - the King of Kings
The One of Whom creation sings

and I worship You - and I worship You
I worship You my Lord

I prayed. :)

Brenda, do you ever listen to ministries on You Tube? I have been listening to one recently, Mark Murchison, who I think you would really like. If you just search for his name on You Tube it will take you to his channel. Have you ever thought of putting things on there?

Love that Lighthouse Vision poem.

I will say a prayer for you, Brenda. I feel especially badly for the people in prison here, with Covid running rampant in the prisons. I feel badly for prisoners anywhere. Please take care!

Hi Sandi,
thank you for your prayers, and I will look up the evangelist on YouTube. I don't think I would be able to go on You Tube myself, as I have not got the confidence. When I was in the streets I felt fine as people were passing in front of me, if I was on You Tube I would feel I was in the limelight - which I never feel comfortable with.

Hi Louise,
Thank you for your prayers. I always loved my visits to the lifers' wing in the prison, there was a Rastafarian there who was the chef, he always welcomed us with cakes saying:- 'Come in ladies'. There were many people who could not forgive themselves for killing someone - who needed to know of God's compassion in their repentance.

Hi Sandra,
thank you for your kind comment. That poem speaks exactly of my life in the Lord.

Dear Brenda,
Your poem reminds me of a great hymn we use to sing which contained these words (this was a long time ago, so I hope I'll get it right.)

Long imprisoned in my dungeon I lay,
bound in sin and darkness.
Then I perceived a flickering ray
The dungeon blazed with light
The chains fell off, I am free,
I rose up, walked out and followed you.

Most likely I didn't get the verse fully correct, but I hope you can still recognise where I got it from.
God bless.

Hi Frank, I could say that poem speaks of my life before I came to the Lord, as I am sure it does with others. Life without the Lord is total darkness, He is the light that shines in our darkness. God bless you and Alex.

What a beautiful song of praise to the One Who deserves em all!

Working before in that place, there are truly lots of lost souls in that environment (prisons) and what an amazing ministry to share God's light into that darkness. Amidst that crowd, it's also amazing to sense brothers behind bars who are truly alive and free (in spirit) while working with co-workers who are spiritually dead. By God's grace, I know you and your friend will continue to touch those who are wanting to let go of all the burdens in their hearts and minds. How will they know if no one tells them about the Lord? So, God bless you sister Brenda and your friend and may you be given His discernment.

Hi Brenda,
Thank you for the beautiful post, poems and songs. It reminds me that all are imprisoned in the dungeon of sin before the power of the Gospel breaks their chains. Joining you in prayer for your prison ministry and for whatever avenues God has in mind for your ministry. He has gifted you with a beautiful message, and as you wait on Him, He will guide you to how best to share it.
Actually, YouTube is not at all intimidating, because you upload a completed video. So you could video yourself in whatever setting you like, do as many takes as you like, and when you have something you feel you want to share, simply upload it! The site is user-friendly and this is fairly easy to do,
These are certainly challenging times in which to minister. I dearly miss singing and teaching in church, and sharing our dance ministry, but trust that God has a plan.
God bless you and your ministry,
Laurie

Hi RCUBEs,
Thank you for your lovely comment. My friend and I are not together now as my husband and I moved over to Northern Ireland, and she lives in Wales. I put some of my leaflets on my blog www.fatherithankyouforjesus.blogspot.co.uk but I would still like to give all the paper ones out. I am sure the Lord will direct my path concerning them. God bless you.

Hi Laurie,
thank you for your lovely comment and your prayers for me. I do believe that there will be a time for giving my leaflets and poems to the public. Thank you for your info on YouTube too, I am still not sure about going onto it though. I would like to just leave them in a place for people to pick up if they want - we shall see. I still enjoy blogging. God bless you and Richard Laurie.

Hi David,
thank you for your prayers for me, and may God continue to bless you as you spread His Word and share your lovely poems.

Hi Brenda,
Yes, you should definitely continue blogging, as your writing, songs and poems are a great blessing to many, and God has clearly gifted you in this area.
Since the pandemic started, blogging is the only ministry in which I am still actively involved, although we still rehearse our dancing and my singing in hopes of more opportunities ahead. Clearly God has a plan, and while waiting on Him, we should minister in whatever areas He provides.
God bless you too!
Laurie

Hi Laurie, yes I agree that blogging is a lovely way of evangelising, although I can never put as many posts up as you and many other bloggers do. God bless you Laurie for your kind comment. It is lovely to have conversations with you and others across the world.

Your post thrills my intercessor's heart, Brenda! I will pray with you for your wonderful vision of a lighthouse ministry that Jesus Himself will ordain for you. Sometimes I think prisoners of the spirit sometimes suffer more than in the physical. Hugs to you, dear woman!

Hi Mary,
I do believe that blogging became my lighthouse ministry, I had no idea when I first came to the Lord that I could interact with others all around the world from my work room :-), but I welcome your intercessory prayer for what I can do with all the cards, laminates and pics regarding the Lord. God bless you and your lovely ministry.
