As a believer, and part of the body of Christ on earth our duty is to spread the gospel to as many people as the Lord leads us to. The following are a poem and a song that I wrote some time ago that reflects how I feel regarding this.
Lord take us to the prisoners
Lord take us to the prisoners
Lord lead us to the ones that are bound
Lord take us to the weary
give rest to their souls
cause the lost to be found
Lord take us to the injured
Lord lead us to the ones that are lame
Lord take us to the helpless
give sight to the blind
by the power in Your name
Lord take us to the thirsty
Lord lead us to the ones that are dry
Lord take us to the lost ones
and open our ears to their pitiful cry
You are my God
You are my God, you are my king
You are my prince of peace
You are my everything
You have the power and the authority
to bring down each stronghold and principality
and I worship, and I worship
and I worship You my Lord
You are the chosen One of the great I AM
You are the Holy One of the risen Lamb
You are the Prince of peace
and the king of kings
and I worship You
and I worship You

Dear Brenda,
That is a lovely poem, yet it reminds us that there are many suffering souls around us, whether they are prisoners, weary, injured, helpless, blind, or thirsty.
We are bright stars shining to illuminate the darkness around us.
Blessings to you and your family.
Hi Brenda, Praise God that if we visit one in prison, whether physically incarcerated or bound by the chains of sin, we will be rewarded as if we visited Christ Himself. Thank you for these lovely and truth-filled poems. May God bless you and your lovely ministry, Laurie

Both of these are simply beautiful, Brenda. So uplifting when the world around us wants to fall apart. May we show the love of Jesus to everyone we meet
Hi Frank, thank you for your kind comment. Yes, people can be both in physical and spiritual prison, and when I was a prison visitor on a lifer's wing there were many people who really regretted what they had done, and came to the Lord. God bless you and Alex.
Hi Laurie, yes you are right in what you have said. My friend and I really loved going out into the streets with leaflets the Lord had given us, and also visiting prisoners. There were so many people who would not have attended a church, but who wanted to know about Jesus. God bless you Laurie as you share what the Lord has given you to share.
Hi Martha Jane, for some reason your comment had gone into spam, and I have brought it back to the comment section. Thank you for your comment, Yes the world is falling apart, and may we show the love of Jesus to everyone we meet. God bless.
Well written and so true. Caring for one another means doing something about it, not just sympathising.
God bless.
Hi Victor, yes that is right, when my friend and I were visiting in the prison most of the men that had killed someone was so sorry, there was only one who did not seem to care that he had killed someone. God bless.
Ирина Полещенко Amazing poems.
Hi Irina, for some reason your comment went into spam. I have brought it back here. Thank you for your kind comment. God bless.
Loved "Lord take us to the lost ones
and open our ears to their pitiful cry."
Hi Great Granny, thank you for your kind comment, it is always good to hear from you. It was a very blessed time when my friend and myself were visitors on the lifer's wing in Cardiff prison. There were so many people that could not forgive themselves for what they had done. We never know what has gone on in somebody's life, and can not judge by what we see. God bless you as you journey on in the Lord.
