Obedience and perseverance

Over the last couple of weeks the Lord has been drawing my attention to 'many shall fall away' and 'the lost sheep'  I always go wherever the Lord sends me, and a local church gathering had been coming into my mind for some time. On Saturday night I felt a spiritual battle. My mind was telling me not to go to the church the next day, as I sometimes have difficulty going to a church where I do not know much about, but I felt the Holy Spirit was telling me to go. So I did, and I realised during the time I was there that it was the spiritual enemy using my carnal mind to try to prevent me from going there. The sermon was on the parable of the seeds and about continuing to sow seeds  as a believer.

I do believe the church has no walls and is the body of Christ on earth, but there is a great need to recognise the truth through the mind of Christ and not let the spiritual enemy divert us away from it through the carnal mind.  That is why 'many shall fall away' in these times.  This is prophesied in Matthew ch. 24 vs. 10-13:-
'At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.'
There can be so many distractions from treading the path the Lord directs us along.  When I look back at how time has flown, I reflect on my near death experience and consider nothing on this earth is worth diverting from the path to eternal life in Jesus our Saviour.  There is a vast difference with God's ways and thoughts and mankind's ways and thoughts.
This is a little prayer I prayed not so long ago which reflects this:-

A New Song

You're full of righteousness
we're full of sin
open up the door to our hearts Lord
let Your light shine in
Unlock the chambers of our minds
release us from our own reasoning
close our ears Lord to our own melody
and then a new song we shall sing

When I got home from the church I looked at the summery of what was on next week, and was amazed when I found that the sermon next Sunday is regarding 'The lost sheep', and I feel that this confirms what has been revealed to me already. He confirms His Word to  us through various happenings in our life as well, and two things that have happened in my life have come into my mind at this time:-

A few years ago my sister bought me a clock for my birthday.  It was black, wrought iron and matched the curtain pole and the light shade in our bedroom.  I loved it and wanted it on my bedside cabinet.  The trouble was, we already had and still have a clock there, a radio clock with an alarm.  This clock is digital and the time shines red in the dark.  I like to see the time during the night so I  kept it where it was.  I then had two clocks on my bedside cabinet.
As I looked at them they emphasised to me life, and the choices of how I fill the time spent in it.  One was decorative, cannot be seen in the dark, and had no alarm.  The other can be seen shining brightly in the dark and has an alarm that is able to tell all who hear it that the dawn is coming.  I have a choice, as a Christian, whether I carry on as a person who knows Jesus as my saviour but does not share the good news of the gospel, or whether I shine that light that has come into my life in this dark world, and contribute to the salvation of others .

One day some time ago I noticed that all the soaps I was using seemed to be 'mushy'.  I then bought a pack of two soaps called 'Simple', which I found better than all the others. There are two in a pack and I thought 'I will give my husband one', as he uses the en suite and I use the bathroom. Then I thought 'No, I will keep them for myself, he can use the other soaps'.

I then noticed that on the pack it read 'pure soap'. I saw a metaphor here. Do we keep the pure Word of God given to us to ourselves , or do we share it - as we are meant to do? We all have different experiences in the Lord and different gifts, but we are one body.

(You are not going to believe this, but as I am typing this post I heard a strange loud noise. I have just gone into our bedroom and seen that this loud noise is coming from the clock I have just written about with the alarm. I was afraid in case there was an electrical fault so I called my husband up. He  came up and said, 'It is the alarm, I must have pushed the button when I wiped it with a cloth yesterday.') We have not used the alarm for years so I did not remember it - is this coincidence - or a sign that this has happened just as I am posting this? I believe absolutely that the alarm going off was a sign accompanying the warning in Matthew ch. 24 v.13 for us to stand firm in the truth of the Word of God spoken to us until the end.

I do believe that I am being warned that we are in the times of the prophesy of Matthew 24 vs. 10-13. May we all endeavour to be obedient to the Word of God spoken to us by the Holy Spirit, and not be diverted away from the truth by false doctrine, and may we persevere in our trials through the strength of our Saviour Jesus Christ.

Psalm 18 v.1

Interesting! But a sign of what? I have a guess... It is time. That's what came to mind. Could it really be time to go?

"The other can be seen shining brightly in the dark and has an alarm that is able to tell all who hear it that the dawn is coming."

Amen to that!

I'm glad you went to the church when you felt it was the Holy Spirit leading you. I hope you will write more about it, if you have the time.

Beautiful post,

Brenda, God has gifted you with the ability to see in everyday objects and events His Wisdom and Truth.

He is also speaking to my spirit that time is growing very short and we must be doing the Lords work and sowing His good seed. The Bible is filled with calls for our endurance — clinging to God no matter what we go through — until the end.

God has impressed Jesus' parable of the Virgins (Matthew 25) on my heart as well — that the Bridegroom will come suddenly and many will not be prepared. Luke 21:36 warns we must watch and pray that we have the strength to stand and escape what is coming.

Thank you for sharing your poem and what God has placed on your heart.

God Bless you sister!

Hi Sandi,
I have just added a bit more to this post . Yes, I believe absolutely that we are in the times of the prophesy of many falling away, as spoken of in Matthew ch. 24. Also, as I am typing this it has come into my mind that at the end of the sermon I had a conversation with a very nice young man called Mark, who is a policeman. The parable of the sower is in the book of Mark and is speaking about the kingdom of God (v. 26). Is it coincidence that the young man I was talking to is a 'policeman' who is called 'Mark'. I believe it is yet another sign to listen to what the parable of the sower is saying.

Hi Jephyr, I totally agree with every word you have said and, as I have just said to Sandi, I have felt led to add a little more to my post. Nothing is coincidence when signs appear to go together with the Word we are being shown in our lives as we work out our salvation. God loves all and wants all to be saved, and has sent the Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth, as Jesus stated. God bless

Also Jephyr I will look up those chapters you spoke about in your comment.
God bless.

True, the Body of Christ exists in all denominations, but not all of those denominations are in the Body of Christ. Hashem may be sending you in to serve him by teaching and edifying or to do battle. Put on the armor and walk fearlessly along the path of Adonai. He is Greater than all who will stand in your way.

B'ruch Attah Y'shua, YHWH, Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh. Natsal Brenda Abodah.Amen.

Blessed are you, Y'shua, of YHWH, The I Am That I Am. Protect Brenda, in her service. Amen.

Thank you Keith for your encouragement, and thank you for your prayer for me. The service at that gathering was very encouraging and scripture based. I agree with what you say regarding denominations, and I believe that love and forgiveness are very important in my walk with the Lord. The spiritual enemy is very cunning and will try to use the carnal mind to divert us from the truth. Thank you for being a very encouraging brother in the Lord - it is an ongoing journey for us all.

Dear Brenda,
I love the analogy of the clocks! So often we are caught up in how we look to others or even to ourselves, but the most important thing is whether or not God's light is shining through us! Thanks for the beautiful, encouraging post. May God bless you and your ministry.

Hi Laurie,
I absolutely agree with what you have said. God loves all and understands that we all have dark moments where the enemy tries to tempt us to go against the Word spoken to us by the Holy Spirit, as we learn God's ways and thoughts through the mind of our Saviour Jesus Christ. There is nothing better in this world than the true light of the Word of God, and the more we praise and pray to our Father in Jesus' name the stronger we will come and recognise the spirit of the enemy.
God bless you Laurie.

Hi Brenda,
Amen! May His light make us more like Himself and strengthen us against the attacks and deceptions of the devil.
God bless you,
Laurie

That's right Laurie,
we must trust in the Lord with all our heart, acting upon the Word spoken to us as He leads us to that 'promised land'. Who would want to be anywhere else?

I feel the Lord is calling WORKERS (not preachers) forth at this time to gather the harvest.
Your teachings are a blessing they always motivate and bring confirmation that we are to obey God not self or peers.

I have a clock that shines in the dark and I like it for the same reasons as you.

As I read that part this song came to mind. As the world's ways seem to get darker every day.

CARRY YOUR CANDLE:

Go Light Your World
Chris Rice
There is a candle in every soul
Some brightly burning, some dark and cold
There is a Spirit who brings a fire
Ignites a candle and makes His home

Carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the helpless, confused and torn
And hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world

Frustrated brother, see how he's tried to
Light his own candle some other way
See now your sister, she's been robbed and lied to
Still holds a candle without a flame

So carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the lonely, the tired and worn
And hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world

'Cause we are a family whose hearts are blazing
So let's raise our candles and light up the sky
Praying to our Father, in the name of Jesus
Make us a beacon in darkest times

Carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the hopeless, deceived and poor
Hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world

Hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world

Hi there,
thank you for your kind comment - all glory to our Lord and Saviour Who said that the Father would send the Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth. The song is lovely and I believe nothing is coincidence. The sign that I felt I had
regarding the clock that shines in the darkness has now been doubled by you sharing that you too have that kind of clock. The most important thing in our walk with the Lord is to encourage others with what the Lord encourages us with through His Word.
God bless you.

Hi Sandi,
it is so important to share what is happening in our lives in the Lord.

Aritha said...

Thanks for your interesting post. I'm glad you went to the church. The church need people who are praying for (more) light and life in Christ.

Brenda said...

Hi Aritha,
thank you for visiting. If we encourage one another in the body of Christ with what the Lord gives each of us to share, then the spiritual enemy Satan ( who is a thief and a liar) will not overcome us - we shall overcome him, as it states in Revelation ch. 12 v. 11. God bless.

Hi Brenda and Stuff,
Just wanted you to know that I'm planning to sing "Carry Your Candle" as a special in church some time after Easter. Thanks for sharing these lyrics to a song I had not heard before and I believe could inspire many.
God bless,
Laurie

Brenda said...

Hi Laurie,
the words of this song are Spirit inspired and would encourage many I am sure.
God bless.

How are you now, Brenda?

Brenda said...

Hi Aritha, I am fine in the Lord thankyou, just waiting on the Lord for guidance. To everything there is a purpose, and He holds my future. I love interacting on line as time and distance mean nothing. It is the Spirit that counts, not the flesh. God bless.
